[Again, as pointed out a field of integral culture as envisaged by Sri Aurobindo and the Mother as a new kind of "ashram," had to be premised on plurality of approaches to the divine and all expressions of life which could enter into the field of seeking. Clear rules have been made about what cannot enter into this field - smoking, drinking, sex and politics. The author of the Lives has not violated any of these while the ringleaders and signature campaigners among the anti-Lives bunch have clearly violated the rule against politics in the ashram. Sri Aurobindo never spoke directly about his experience or lack of experience of sex, but he did refer to the subject indirectly. Corrections to textual excerpts of The Lives of Sri Aurobindo by Peter Heehs

It is not unusual to come across certain allusions or turns of phrase in Sri Aurobindo's oeuvre which turns one on. Some day some daring soul might list them out. That way, Heehs’ observation might stand scrutiny. But how one person can certify so confidently about the private habits of another remains a mystery. [TNM]

This is a wrong conclusion drawn by these sophisticated scholars you have named above - Debashish, Rich and Heehs. Great Masters like Aurobindo, Vivekananda, Sai Baba, Ramana Maharshi can gain knowledge of anything due to the Powers they gain after Self-Realization. They are able to assess the state of their disciples and find the problem. It is not needed to experience something to tell where the problem lies. That is how they are able to guide others. Apparently, your scholars named above do not know the action of a Master how it works. They should try to understand more before they talk or write books.
