Curiosity building up over Savitri Era Party

What is your agenda? Why are you associating politics with SA-TM? You are clouding their work vision to satisfy your lust for power. Your posts are dry and intellectual without any heart in them. There is no sense of offering too. Better abandon politics if you wish to save your soul. Posted by Anonymous to

You have touched upon some issues which can be dealt with by getting elected to the Parliament or State Assemblies. I have floated the Savitri Era Party to precisely this end. TNM Reply

Where is the complete manifesto of the Savitri Era Party? What is the position of the party on the last Indian budget. Also, on the issue of reservations in the educational institutions ? Reply

Tusar, The questions were meant for public discussion. You may answer the first two questions at leisure but I am more interested in the reservation issue which is corrupting the education system. It needs to be replaced by another system which addresses the historical inequities without sacrificing merit. Unless you have the "pull" to change those laws at the Centre, I don't see any merit in having a private conversation :) Reply

[Re: The Mother’s role in the 1971 War—by Kittu Reddy by Tusar N. Mohapatra on Thu 06 Aug 2009 08:07 PM IST Profile Permanent Link Savitri Era Party is committed to raise a band of young leaders and inculcate in them a brand of patriotism as envisioned by The Mother & Sri Aurobindo. TNM Reply by Vikas on Thu 06 Aug 2009 10:25 PM IST Profile Permanent Link "Patriotism as envisioned by The Mother & Sri Aurobindo" is good. Yoga and dedication to the Divine need not preclude Patriotism; it ought to intensify it. It would be well to remember Sri Aurobindo's message on 15th Aug 1947 Independance Day. India has a great role to play in the future of humanity. Reply by Tusar N. Mohapatra on Thu 06 Aug 2009 11:04 PM IST Profile Permanent Link Thanks for concurring. Tusar, While I understand and appreciate the leverage that a political position - a position of power - can provide for greater action, I am convinced that there is a lot that can be done in an apolitical setup.

Tusar, do you really think it is wise to mix the integral yoga with politics, and that too, the kind of disgusting politics that we have in South Asia? The Mother forbade politics in the Ashram, as far as I know. It is one thing to go into politics being personally inspired by Sri Aurobindo and the Mother... but entirely another to create a political party affiliated with SA/M or their yoga. You are treading on dangerous ground both with this Savitri Era Party and Savitri Era Religion stuff... Good luck to you in your political efforts, but I hope you realize you are stepping into very, very deep waters if you mix this sort of stuff with yoga. Politics is the realm of ideology and ideology (right-wing or left-wing) is pretty much the farthest thing from Truth. Reply] [by Tusar N. Thanks for the sermon. However, I don’t find any reason why our views should converge given our difference in age, experience, education, religion, gender, nationality, life goals, etc. TNM Reply]

So no one can question this Savitri party looks like? There is a need to question party politics and the burden of answering lies on the people who set up parties. What is the agenda of this party? We need to explain our motives and agenda to the people to join our party and not just dismiss their queries as sermons. thanks Reply] [by Tusar N. I completely agree with what Ned is saying. The Mirror cannot be a platform to project Party ideals of whatever kind these be. I’ll request commentators to desist from such a temptation.][by RY Deshpande on Tue 11 Aug 2009 03:04 PM IST Profile Permanent Link
We need not pursue this any further on the Mirror of Tomorrow. Sorry. RYD Reply]

In the run up to August 15, it is heartening to observe some curiosity building up over Savitri Era Party. Some are justifiably worked up while others are genuinely inquisitive. We have endeavored, within constraints, during the last two years to articulate the stand of the Party on scores of issues which can be accessed by surfing the archives.

Moreover, we are extremely thankful to Google/Blogger without whose hospitality this would not have seen the light of the day. Clarifications, if any, can be elicited from tusarnmohapatra@gmail.com by disclosing full identity and interests. Tusar N. Mohapatra, President, Savitri Era Party. [TNM]

Tusar, this is a puzzling response to people who want to know what Savitri Era Party stands for. What are its goals concisely? You should have a mission statement and give some indication of who are the leading members of SAP other than yourself. Do you really expect people to troll through two years of posts to try to piece together your position? Why not make yourself and your mission/goals clear? Surely clarifying your mission would be helpful in gathering support for it, whatever it is. I for one cannot tell what your mission is, even from all the reading I have done on Savitri Era Forum. http://www.quantumyoga.org/

  2. Savitri Era Party is meant for Indian citizens only, and hence it may not interest you. Your sympathy, however, is appreciated. [TNM]
