Emotional content in Indian politics is on the rise

India’s path of rapid growth from 1982 (Asian Games) to 2010 (Commonwealth Games) is a gift of globalization. The sheer logic of freedom aided by technology has unleashed innovation and knack of risk taking in diverse spheres. The people are willing to march forward but the political parties are a drag. A few aged and jaded individuals are ruining the future of the younger generation.

The emotional content in Indian politics is on the rise and thinking is anchored to medieval enunciations. Each party is propagating a distorted version of history leading to selective amnesia in its followers. Such induced belief systems are causing immense harm to the future of the nation as a whole.

A large number of devotees of The Mother & Sri Aurobindo are also victims of such a warped awareness of history. But the blow this subject received from one of its noted students connected with the ashram is the most tragic. [TNM]
