PR for public scrutiny

Leveling allegations against the top man of an institution is common in a democracy and handling them with tact to wriggle out of the charges is part of his job profile. Diplomatic deployment of silence and communication, carrot and stick and such other innovations from time to time are indicators of the top man’s efficiency and leadership. Spies and sycophants play a crucial role here. Disinformation campaigns and techniques of diverting attention are also harnessed to spread confusion.

Accusations against Manoj Das Gupta, the present Managing Trustee of Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Puducherry have been doing the rounds in the blogosphere for quite some time. He has all the wherewithal to counter challenges but whether he is on the side of truth is difficult to judge. His sympathizers will have to pile up sufficient evidence for public scrutiny. He can continue disregarding PR to his peril.  [TNM]
