From the family to the UNO
From Tusar N. Mohapatra firstname.lastname@example.org date 14 June 2011 08:43 subject Re: Save Jan lokpal -- the pressure is working!
Sri Aurobindo wrote in different times and different circumstances. The responsibility of providing an efficient administration to the country devolves upon every citizen in a democracy. So training in this aspect of life is a must just like other popular professions. The scope of politics is all pervasive and extends from the family to the UNO. Formulating sound public policies and commensurate legislation is an ongoing process. Further, this is the field where the challenge is to give practical shape to all highly cherished human values.
Obviously, the difficulties are formidable but surely not insurmountable. Elsewhere, The Mother & Sri Aurobindo have built a robust theoretical bedrock and offered enough guidance to tackle such eventualities. The present turmoil owes its origin to misplaced priorities, bizarre procedures, and competitive activism. Sensible politics would involve level headed reflection and honest negotiation. [TNM]
