India is no island

The Left are known votaries of socialistic principles in economy, while the BJP pursues the same in the sphere of religion. Thus, the political ideal of Liberty stands compromised in different ways. Rest of the parties, too, are no worshipers of Freedom, but manage their policy on pragmatic basis. The fact that competition spurs innovation has, of course, received acceptance, but the conviction level is very low.

The present storm over foreign investment in retail trade is a ridiculous debate. A country of our size and potential developing cold feet at meeting the outsiders is a cowardly act. If India is to lead the world, obviously, it can't stay an island. [TNM55]
