In an embarrassment for Maharashtra government, the Bombay High Court today ordered interim stay on appointment of members to the newly- constituted board of Shri Saibaba Sansthan (trust), which governs the famous shrine of Saibaba at Shirdi.]

On the occasion of Odisha Day, we demand induction of a person of Odia origin as a trustee of Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Puducherry in deference to their numerical strength as inmates as well as devotees at large. This is long overdue, and should be given effect immediately in order to avoid repetition of their recent ill-treatment. [TNM55]

  1. to
news about 'recent ill treatment'should be published for the common devotees of odisha.i fear that this news got no space in savitri era to save its reputation.please consider and let the news be a news only.
(this request is not for publication in 'recent comment')

What other quotas would you like the SAAT to reserve for its trustees? STs? SCs? OBCs? North Indians? South Indians? Reddys? Ranades? Pandeys? Mohapatras????
If we go about it this way, the SAAT will have 2000 trustees and 5 non-trustees (the existing ones!).
It is surprising that all these brilliant "devotees" come up with the most brilliant suggestions that even the Mother in Her eternal wisdom didn't think about.
And talking about an Odiya Trustee for the SAAT, it is absolutrly not true that an Oriya cannot become a Trustee. In fact, Manoj Das, an eminent Odiya, was a Trustee of the Ashram. If he chose to resign for his personal reasons the SAAT cannot be blamed for the lack of "representation" of Odiyas in the SAAT.

  3. The devotees also demand that commensurate with their numerical strength there should be proportionate Odia representation in the management of Sri Aurobindo Society.
