Seven years of probing the self

[June 26, 2012 6:26 PM R: It is also to be noted that the majority of the persons coming nowadays, are coming, only to have a job and a comfortable living. No intention of sadhana, let alone the Integral Yoga. We have observed the gradual deterioration in the atmosphere after the passing of the Mother. Even Mother has made damaging remarks about the Ashram, in the Agenda.
So where does that leave us? Of course, we can shout from the roof tops that the aim of the Sri Aurobindo Ashram is the Integral Yoga. But what is the ground reality? Complex situation, to say the least.] 7:50 PM

[Re: The Genesis of a Controversy by ned on Fri 16 Jan 2009 09:07 PM PST |  Profile |  Permanent Link I should probably add that on a personal level, I intend to keep a very, very safe emotional distance from the IY community, mostly as a result of this controversy. ;-) Group egos tend to stunt the emotional growth of individuals.
Reply by koantum on Fri 16 Jan 2009 09:44 PM PST |  Profile |  Permanent Link That shouldn't be too difficult, considering that a community that cannot be defined doesn't even exist. ;-) But why only this community?]

In an ultra-reductive flourish, Ulrich landed at this absurd conclusion that the community doesn't exist. Yet, though mired in confusion and conflict, a community is very much visible and vocal three and a half years later.

Theory is as fluid today as it was at the time of Heraclitus and offers scope for fecund creativity. Praxis, unfortunately, is insufficiently covered being based upon ill-lit assumptions (partly due to phenomenological restriction on description), thus jeopardizing credible and coherent theorization. Philosophy, obviously, is on the back foot owing to the joint assault by Science and Cultural Studies.

The role of yoga, - Integral Yoga in particular, - is of immense importance at this intersection. The sovereign I and its uniqueness in real time constitutes an amalgam of theory and practice unfettered by any regimentation and needs no separate validation. This seemingly groping-in-the-dark adventure is indeed a leap into the future which no other means can assure. [TNM55]

Mamata's challenge to Dynasty

Tweets 3m Savitri Era Party @SavitriEraParty No better opportunity for Mamata Banerjee to go national and announce her party set up in all States without caring for alliances.
11m The only disadvantage with Mamata is that she is more left than the Left in economic policies. But then Sonia has to be paid in her own coin
24m UPA plus allies coalesce around Muslim vote while NDA minus allies bank upon Hindu core vote. Mamata has opportunity to tap middle space.
37m 3 cheers to our Constitution that has thrown such a complex numbers game for President & can't be predicted by best of computer simulation.
50m Keeping off Sonia and RSS is a sure-success formula for (anti-Left) Mamata in the national scene. The only positive to add is Sri Aurobindo.
1h Momentum generated by Anna and Ramdev can very well be channelized by Mamata to challenge the Dynasty. Both Sangma and Kalam fit quite well.
