Nationalist ideology under Sri Aurobindian ontology

@SavitriEraParty: @arunmsk I'd request you to start reading/reciting a page of Savitri by Sri Aurobindo on a regular basis for unlocking some newness in life.
@SavitriEraParty: There is no alternative to read and know and Sri Aurobindo has left it all in black and white. Art and poetry, philosophy and politics, Yoga.
@SavitriEraParty: The civilizational experience of the West form a vast canvas over which India has the distinct advantage of painting its future. #FiveDreams
@SavitriEraParty: Sri Aurobindo presents such a lofty notion of nationalism dovetailing  into universalism that mere bread & butter issues find their harmony.
@SavitriEraParty: Power entails development and governance but the greater task for a Party is to inculcate sentiments of unity and optimism among the people.
@SavitriEraParty: No other individual has charted a more elegant evolutionary pathway for India during the last hundred years than Sri Aurobindo. #FiveDreams
@SavitriEraParty: Party affiliations should never act as a repellent for assimilating appropriate intellectual inputs that can nurture an Integral worldview.
@SavitriEraParty: Intellectual underpinning is an essential element of any sound society and without grasping Sri Aurobindo's logic no firm basis is possible.
@SavitriEraParty: @Sheks65 Forming Govt is not the only legitimacy within a democracy especially when Sri Aurobindo's #FiveDreams Manifesto has a wide vision.
@SavitriEraParty: Ideological purity and maturity is far more important for the nation today than juvenile cobbling of motley combination for capturing power.
@SavitriEraParty: Many are wary of multiplicity of parties but then what's the alternative if one disagrees with AAP, BJP-RSS, Congress and the Left ideology?
@SavitriEraParty: Indian Constitution is a fairly decent document to accommodate nationalist sentiment under the overall umbrella of Sri Aurobindian Ontology.
@SavitriEraParty: Immediate electoral gains need not mesmerize us nor warp our strategies. Meeting of minds and ideological convergence is what should endure.
@SavitriEraParty: A huge nation-wide nationalist electoral space is still available that espouses liberalism & refuses to be yoked under the BJP-RSS paradigm.
@SavitriEraParty: Despite being twice-born, BJP is still entangled by the umbilical cord of the RSS and its borrowed cadre and dares not finding its own feet.
@SavitriEraParty: Symbiosis is a major driving force behind evolution but proves detrimental and debilitating in the long run like BJP-RSS or Sonia-Manmohan.

Sri Aurobindo's philosophy, poetry, and social theory

Governance and development torment our planners and lay man alike in India today. The elite is red faced as to why we are lagging behind and for so long. Earlier, the blame was on conquerors and colonialists but now there is no such alibi. So, obviously, something must be lacking in our national character; more aptitudinal than ethical. One such trait is reluctance to spot value.

The neglect of Sri Aurobindo by educated young Indians proves the point. Pretty intelligent people on Twitter are discussing thousand other things but are unwilling to listen a word about Sri Aurobindo. The preeminent place Sri Aurobindo occupies in philosophy, poetry, and social theory is absolutely forgotten whenever a portrait of the modern India is sought to be presented.

TV coverage is setting norms of value and individual priorities in a predominant manner but Internet has also facilitated reading in a big way. So, why this near absence of appreciation for what can be called the single-most reservoir of social capital? No doubt, absence of utilitarian exploitation by way of career avenues is a huge bottleneck but the reigning impression of the teaching of The Mother & Sri Aurobindo being abstract also acts as a dampener.

A national level Institute offering fellowships and part-time employment for prosecuting socio-cultural research around the works of Sri Aurobindo is a necessity now. That such an initiative should generate in the voluntary sector without any dependence on the Govt. is also important. Future progress of India necessitates Sri Aurobindo's Five Dreams taking practical shape and no lesser casual initiative can claim to outpace it. [TNM55]

Sri Aurobindo and the transphysical worlds

Sri Aurobindo was not a historian but a lot of historical accounts can be found in his writings. On many occasions his brush strokes are so broad that multiple factual inconsistencies can be spotted on close scrutiny. At places, Sri Aurobindo describes certain events or episodes of history like he presents an estimate of a person. He, in fact, enters into the spirit and hastens to portray an integral picture while the material details might be lacking such perfection. This is true of all creative writers and nothing can be more vivid in our times than even Heehs skidding.

The difficulty of academic interrogation of Sri Aurobindo, therefore, is enormous since relying upon quotations from his works can be wobbling. Besides, his perceptions differ between his conversations and writings at places pertaining to separate periods of time. The sheer mass of his writings also presents a huge obstacle for obtaining a satisfactory grasp within a reasonable time. Variety and depth also dissuades many young enthusiasts to attempt understanding him in any detail. Nevertheless, it's not impossible to gather an overall emphasis on an unerring, unseen force in all of Sri Aurobindo's writings.

The evolutionary quest for light, freedom, and immortality is the constant theme in Sri Aurobindo's poems and plays, historical narratives and political prophecy. Intellectual growth is not exactly his notion of perfection but the emphasis he puts on it as a tool and a help for further rise into higher rungs of consciousness must receive our attention. Dr. Eric M. Weiss maintains that "Sri Aurobindo's descriptions of transphysical worlds in Part I Book II of his epic poem Savitri, is unparalleled in the English language." [TNM55]

Sri Aurobindo as arbitrator Of history

India stands divided today on the basis of its past. An influential section believes that a glorious account of Indian history has deliberately been sabotaged and hence the same should be reestablished while the more commonsensical view is that the modern generation should steer clear of such uncritical and unsubstantiated tributes to the past. An understanding approach, however, senses some merit in both the standpoints and the challenge, therefore, is how to reconcile the two extremes. The problem is compounded when dominant political parties of the country patronise any one side of the debate and force almost a mythological version of history on cadre, thereby raising a vocal bulwark of support, resistance, and aggression. Not only identity and religion, a whole system of patronage and propaganda grows around the network bordering on a sort of sub-nationalism prospering over a wide diaspora.

In the face of such a dismal scenario, the students of The Mother & Sri Aurobindo find themselves in an extremely advantageous situation barring the fact that they are in an extreme minority. But the fact that the bone of contention is largely intellectual is a precious silver lining with every potentiality of a noon dawning at any moment. Sri Aurobindo, while dealing with the ancient Indian texts with unparalleled insight and analysis, brings the critical tools to the table so that the West is also allowed a level playing field. Anti-colonialist feeling prevalent in India has prevented people from taking sufficient advantage of such an intellectual symbiosis, but The Mother & Sri Aurobindo, through their published works spanning about a hundred volumes, have indeed unveiled a new era of harmony and international understanding.

Hegel and Whitehead, Lao tzu and Nietzsche, diverse streams of world knowledge find a synthesis in Sri Aurobindo's encyclopedic writings. Homer and Heraclitus, Dante and Goethe, all come alive in his portrayals and comparative analyses covering poetry, philosophy, politics, and education. More than anything else, Sri Aurobindo gives us a firm foothold in the midst of history to institute our own measurements and calibrations under the safe authority of his hallowed arbitration. A point of caution here, however, is to avoid rigid literalism and hackneyed fact-fetishism so as to draw freely from Sri Aurobindo's liberating oeuvre. A further unrecognised aspect is any effort to understand the great Master also contributes to the overall urge for global wellbeing and evolution. [TNM55]

A democracy less noisy

The recent political churning in India has proved beyond doubt that despite operational loopholes and shortcomings, a widespread longing for designing a better society grips the youth overwhelmingly. The spirit of sacrifice and selflessness exhibited by countless volunteers is a reminder that the quest for perfection and evolution is on. Sri Aurobindo's vision of the Life Divine, in this context, appears increasingly relevant howsoever far the present situation may be from it. A quiet and firm sense of certitude in its advent on our part is what is wanted especially in view of the Centenary of the book the coming year. Sri Aurobindo's image, unfortunately, has been buried under the popular misconceptions of yoga and meditation but the autonomy of the ontology outlined magisterially in the book The Life Divine must stand on its own. A recent book juxtaposing Sri Aurobindo with Whitehead further enhances the pivotal place The Life Divine occupies in the world of philosophy. It also underscores the receding value of religious notions that linger as superstitions sans any rational justifications.
Thus the fusion of political as well as religious imperatives must be brought into focus for possible acceptance by discerning young minds. The wealth of philosophical training and scientific thinking that Sri Aurobindo brings to the table also needs to be highlighted. The immediate political thrill and pleasures of group dynamics may not be available from the philosophical approach but then the ultimate lesson for democracy is also to be less noisy and showy.

Kejriwal and Kiran as lead pair

Savitri Era Party ‏@SavitriEraParty 2m
The Prafulla Mahanta syndrome too is another dampener for AAP prospects as cynicism overpowers the auto-correcting aspects of Democracy.

The Pramod Mahajan syndrome has altered the Indian politics irrevocably and crony capitalism hardly bothers anyone. AAP not taken seriously.

Savitri Era Party ‏@SavitriEraParty 26m
@Sheks65 2014 will be dominated by internecine fight among regional parties and the confusion generated would be mind boggling. Let's see.

Savitri Era Party ‏@SavitriEraParty 5h
Just like Delhi weather is National weather on TV, AAP, by virtue of fighting Elections in Delhi, evokes the impression of a National Party.

Savitri Era Party ‏@SavitriEraParty 6h
@omprakashgoenka That, ironically, holds good for the opposite eventuality too.

Savitri Era Party ‏@SavitriEraParty 6h
@Realist_Indian @smarket Being voted to Power precedes any modicum of governance and no escape from this reality which even AAP internalised.

Sri Aurobindo's Vedic dialectic of Integral Evolution

@SavitriEraParty: [The essence of Rig Veda: Sri Aurobindo and Sri Kapāli Sāstry. It has four key steps described briefly [1; 16, Vol.4] http://t.co/Xo4BaIKUup
@SavitriEraParty: [On Mantric Traditions: the teachings of Kukai and Sri Aurobindo by Rod Hemsell] http://t.co/bZ9JX34UPa
@SavitriEraParty: Memorizing the first verse of the Veda is the minimum one can do in honour of such an ancient yet profound poetic wonder. Just 24 syllables.
@SavitriEraParty: Despite the all round moral degeneration, The Mother & Sri Aurobindo never did lose hope. The Veda, The Life Divine, & Savitri are saviours.
@SavitriEraParty: Upon contemplating the probable fate of India after Independence 100 years ago, Sri Aurobindo saw nothing optimistic and opted for the Veda.
@SavitriEraParty: Internet has bestowed too much of wisdom upon too many persons at too young an age. But, their orientation on the Veda would almost be zero!
@SavitriEraParty: Safeguarding secularism may be a noble mission but if it blinds one to riches of the Veda, then that must be labelled as a serious delusion.
@SavitriEraParty: Moral values will never endure by merely relying upon youthful exuberance or devotional preponderance. The Veda is a more secure anchor.
@SavitriEraParty: India was under foreign rule as the Veda was banished from people's memory; Sri Aurobindo enthroned it and India regained its Independence.
@SavitriEraParty: The way Sri Aurobindo decoded the Vedic terminology, The Mother too brought out the significance of flowers by assigning them Vedic values.
@SavitriEraParty: The Vedic transaction is a dialogue involving both ascent and the descent leading to further transformation and conquering of territory.
@SavitriEraParty: Sri Aurobindo picks up the idea of Evolution and Overman from Western discourses but finds their confirmation later in the Vedic utterances.
@SavitriEraParty: The Veda said it 1000s years earlier that human mind has potential of roaming faster than what a Google search command can accomplish today.
@SavitriEraParty: Those who are eager for forecasting Election results can certainly be able to hone their intuition further by uttering certain Vedic hymns.
@SavitriEraParty: The Veda may not be a coherent document for historical or anthropological investigation but has enough fodder for psychological exploration.
@SavitriEraParty: The horse has ceased to be a combat vehicle but the imagery has forever been captured by the Veda to mean war against agents of disharmony.
@SavitriEraParty: It's only by internalizing the priorities enunciated in the Veda that an ideal society can be conceived of like Sri Aurobindo's Life Divine.
@SavitriEraParty: Veda is an altogether different Continent by entering into which one can partake of its savour and not by telescopic observations from afar.
@SavitriEraParty: Quality of life has come to be measured in terms of skyscrapers but the adventure of consciousness the Veda facilitates has no competitors.
@SavitriEraParty: Worshippers of liberty are often dismayed by their pet projections going haywire but fail to realize that thwarts are of Vedic stipulations.
@SavitriEraParty: Semiology hypothesizes divergence between the text and the addressee but The Veda's mantric lift can be a means to hearken to the originary.
@SavitriEraParty: The hermeneutic of the Veda is not to be confused with that of any subsequent Karika or the Gita. Sri Aurobindo takes us to the very source.
@SavitriEraParty: Even the distribution of portfolios in deference to gender aptitude and specialisations offers a very interesting area of study in the Veda.
@SavitriEraParty: The Veda not only gives the clue to fathom taxonomy of human temperaments but also geographical attributes ruling over psychological traits.
@SavitriEraParty: Those who are too bothered about Equality better consult Bhaga of the Veda who presides over all distribution and notion of share and quota.
@SavitriEraParty: Harbouring political ambition or seeking power are often held as pejorative but the Veda thinks it otherwise. Aryaman is the ideal of force.
@SavitriEraParty: Fighting against corruption & misconduct is surely a Vedic imperative since light & transparency are primordial elements of human Evolution.
@SavitriEraParty: Regional saint poets of yesteryears were responsible for distancing the Veda from popular appreciation and Sri Aurobindo reverses that flaw.
@SavitriEraParty: Sri Aurobindo also liberates the Veda from meaningless ritual & turns it accessible to people of all cultures as a tool for self-perfection.
@SavitriEraParty: Through his inimitable translations and unsurpassed commentaries Sri Aurobindo has transformed the Veda into a universal document of ethics.
@SavitriEraParty: Land of its origin or language in which it is written are insignificant aspects in comparison to overall worth of content the Veda uncorks.
@SavitriEraParty: When we extol the Knowledge Society & Transparency, it's basically Varuna in the Vedic diction the "oceanic vastness" of which Twitter aims.
@SavitriEraParty: What we call Multiculturalism, Diversity, or a Tolerant society today is nothing but the domain of the Vedic Mitra seen as a political goal.
@SavitriEraParty: The Veda is the repository of all values, both human and Divine, and verily the fount of all Codes & Constitutions of various Civilisations.
@SavitriEraParty: It's instructive to approach the Veda sans poetic embellishments & the Deities as sheer powers shorn of latter day mythological distortions.
@SavitriEraParty: Man's petition to Deity in the Veda in fact constitutes the dialectic between the actual and the possible and quenches quest for perfection.
@SavitriEraParty: Even learning about a solitary term of the Veda can alter the whole perspective of life and priorities. Sri Aurobindo invites to adventure.
@SavitriEraParty: Neither the Leftists nor the Right Wing stalwarts have anything to do with the Veda; they even ignore Sri Aurobindo but worship mediocre.
@SavitriEraParty: Not the mythological stories that are merely faraway symbols but the original invocations of the Veda leading to man's perfection must rule.
@SavitriEraParty: Veda also presents an interesting spectacle of not giving way to reductionistic ontology of Upanishads thus defending postmodernist terrain.
@SavitriEraParty: Sri Aurobindo exhorts every Indian to rescue the Veda from disuse and to seek the enlightened company of Mitra and Varuna, Mahi and Sarama.
@SavitriEraParty: The Veda neither needs temples nor statues, neither havan nor chantings rendered with bodily gestures. It must suffuse our minds and senses.
@SavitriEraParty: The Veda not only gives the key to stray into higher levels of cognition but also imparts rare poetic sensibilities from unimagined regions.
@SavitriEraParty: For millions of Indians the Veda is a closed book, used during the funeral rituals. Sri Aurobindo says it's the book of life and aspiration.
@SavitriEraParty: The fact that so much of disinformation pervades Twitter, it's also a Veda-ordained task to expose perpetrators of falsehood & lie-peddlers.
@SavitriEraParty: Veda is replete with allusions to war and prayers for victory. Sri Aurobindo identifies it as fight for light waged since prehistoric days.
@SavitriEraParty: The clarity with which Sri Aurobindo has depicted the course of future human Evolution is not unrelated to his overall political projection.
@SavitriEraParty: The role of The Mother & Sri Aurobindo during the WW-II is proof enough that their joint agenda has significant future political dimensions.
@SavitriEraParty: Let the elixir of the Veda - and not alcohol - be the companion of youth in a prosperous India that leads the world towards the Life Divine.
@SavitriEraParty: The Veda shows us the path of life, tells its destination, armours against adversaries & keeps reminding of the final victory against death.
@SavitriEraParty: Europe was engulfed in War and whole West was gasping for breath under Existentialism is when Sri Aurobindo revealed the Secret of the Veda.
@SavitriEraParty: Technology has put us in a flux & it's futile to fulminate against contesting cultural norms. The Veda conversely anchors the core concerns.
@SavitriEraParty: The great men that are eulogized day in and day out are ignorant of the Veda. Only Sri Aurobindo understood which he brings out in Savitri.
@SavitriEraParty: To be young and educated but not conscious of the challenges of life and society is a colossal delusion. The Veda alerts us to adversaries.
@SavitriEraParty: Science is yet to be sure whether the Universe is continuous or discontinuous but the Human destination is starkly demonstrated in the Veda.
@SavitriEraParty: Most philosophical streams have been able to explain the problems of life and perception quite excellently but they call it a day midstream.
@SavitriEraParty: Poverty, no doubt, is a potent political issue but the real issues are beyond economics. The Veda awakens us to the deeper concerns of man.
@SavitriEraParty: The contribution of Indian psychology to the emergence of a subjective and spiritual age (Sri Aurobindo)by Don Salmon http://t.co/UmfoMtjfGg
@SavitriEraParty: The Veda is the foundation of ethics and excellence and Sri Aurobindo has enhanced its core relevance by yoking it to the future Evolution.
@SavitriEraParty: Neither Nehru nor Radhakrishnan forbid anyone from studying the works of Sri Aurobindo but our columnists & analysts blame education system.
@SavitriEraParty: The Veda is too vast is a clever pretext to avoid it. But what prevents to learn about a single term like Agni, Arya or Ratna to start with?
@SavitriEraParty: Why blame Nehru if you are unwilling to read even a page of The Secret of the Veda authored by Sri Aurobindo that's freely available online?
@SavitriEraParty: Greenhorns ticking off Sri Aurobindo on Twitter is so laughable that one only prays for this country & English-knowing citizenry in silence!
@SavitriEraParty: How can those who are so concerned about the erroneous Aryan Invasion Theory (AIT) be so complacent regarding right interpretation of Veda?
@SavitriEraParty: Most people would pretend as if the Veda doesn't exist & so-called votaries of Hindu religion are silent about it. Why? Who has authorised?
@SavitriEraParty: Understanding Lal-Bal-Pal individually is essential and more important is how Sri Aurobindo went many steps ahead to reinterpret scriptures.
@SavitriEraParty: No one has any right to call himself a Hindu unless he reads and understands the Veda the way Sri Aurobindo has unveiled its potent secrets.
@SavitriEraParty: Mechanical recitation and foolishly listening to chanting has spawned a culture of anti-intellectualism for which Sri Aurobindo is antidote.
@SavitriEraParty: Misguided reading of ancient texts has been the bane of Indian society for Centuries and Sri Aurobindo alone is the sun who dispels darkness.
@SavitriEraParty: A thumb rule for present generation is not to accept any text or scripture without consulting Sri Aurobindo's opinion on it & allied books.
@SavitriEraParty: It's definitely preferable to take guidance regarding life and action from the sayings of The Mother & Sri Aurobindo instead of present owls.

Rock and torch

The books by The Mother & Sri Aurobindo are the best antidote for the sophisticated seeming web of a bunch of Hindu Bhindranwales on Twitter.

Today when the world is groping under ideological confusion and metaphysical ambivalence, The Mother & Sri Aurobindo stand as rock and torch.

The Mother's groundbreaking work in Puducherry spanning six decades has hardly attracted attention of historians chronicling nation building.

Gokhale went to South Africa to meet Gandhi in 1912 as per British conspiracy. The Mother came to meet Sri Aurobindo in 1914 to negate that.

All those who feel that Sri Aurobindo has not got his due must come forward to express their gratitude on his passing away day on December 5.

If anyone or organization is planning a function on the passing away anniversary of Sri Aurobindo on December 5 please notify it on Twitter.

Sri Aurobindo's birthday on August 15 drowns in the Independence Day din. Let the nation remember him in a befitting fashion on December 5.

Sri Aurobindo is the greatest poet and author the world has produced so far. Digesting even a morsel is worth it from this 20th Century seer.

Election fever will be over on 4th. Please visit your nearest Sri Aurobindo Centre to pay homage on his passing away anniversary on 5th Dec.

@kuffir @sanjeevsanyal Sri Aurobindo is the safest framework to scrutinize anything from the tradition or the contemporary repertoire in.

Sri Aurobindo gave the Darwinian version of Evolution a wheel to move forward and a mirror to look back at the dawn. amazon.com/Evolution-Reli…

@sahilkhatri82 Wonderful but the image Nagpur evokes today is the Kafkaesque caucus called RSS that prevents flow of Sri Aurobindo's thought.

Sri Aurobindo's support for Allies in WW-II, Cripps offer, Wavel plan, Cabinet Mission, and #FiveDreams speech on Aug 14,1947 are landmarks.

Sri Aurobindo seems not very particular about the popular notion of reward or punishment for action but the Tehelka episode validates Karma!

RW stalwarts mortgaging their intelligence to Quixotic fantasy is a greater tragedy than India refusing the Cripps offer seven decades back.

Two decades have elapsed after End of History but the Left-Right divide refuses to die. Let's hope #AAP bridges the gap & ushers in Harmony.

Each vote for AAP in Delhi is a vote against medieval obscurantism espoused by RSS/BJP and the dynastic enslavement imposed by the Congress.

No need to dream of exotic revolutions like Spring or Jasmine since voting for the humble broom of AAP can cleanse the dirt of the nation.

How to rescue Nationalism from RSS/BJP

@SavitriEraParty: It should be an eye opener why YY's political itinerary met with disappointments. It's ignoring path of Sri Aurobindo http://t.co/EbPbEXNHzs
@SavitriEraParty: @IndiaOpines While dwelling on the magnetic pull of Nationalism, YY remembers Manipur. But the right direction is Puducherry & Sri Aurobindo.
@SavitriEraParty: Sri Aurobindo has laid out his #FiveDreams and enunciated the path of Integral Education and Yoga in order to achieve those noble goals.
@SavitriEraParty: The most crucial question embedded within the long interview of YY is how to rescue Nationalism from RSS/BJP and the answer is Sri Aurobindo.
@SavitriEraParty: Perhaps a well earned lesson for Yogendra Yadav in the primacy of Nationalism that is bound to end in Sri Aurobindo. http://t.co/rxRcnRWFXI
@SavitriEraParty: @jairajp No doubt AAP is strongly pitted in Delhi and is likely to taste power but its intellectual background to exist has not taken root.
@SavitriEraParty: @Tamil1947 @jairajp Apprehensions linger since AAP is making an audacious attempt to capture power without any base or previous popularity.
@SavitriEraParty: @Tamil1947 @jairajp Policies develop over time and are not a problem; more important is the ideology that acts as the glue to unite members.

Keep the RSS and the Congress out

@SavitriEraParty: Tribalism prevents from seeing that the Emperor is naked. Even the liberating power of education fails to trigger free thinking & choosing.
@SavitriEraParty: Tribalism imparts a powerful pull toward the Religion one is born into but it's no virtue. Finding out the best path available is diligence.
@SavitriEraParty: Tribalism induces to cling to the dominant groups but the beauty of democracy lies in niche ideals that survive with rudimentary support.
@SavitriEraParty: @Bhairavaprasada @WordOfTheFree @AgentSaffron @venkateshkm So we even need a Greek national to put sand in our eyes! http://t.co/iYeaS6Pl9G
@SavitriEraParty: Surprising that myriad analysts on Twitter never find it interesting to perform an honest comparison between Vivekananda and Sri Aurobindo.
@SavitriEraParty: All glorification of India's past must rhyme with right politics at present. Not Vivekananda, Sri Aurobindo turns out to be the safe guide.
@SavitriEraParty: Each State presents own & the overall picture is confusing but the overarching formula for 2014 is clear: Keep the RSS and the Congress out.
@SavitriEraParty: The logic of the SVD or BLD still rules the dominant minds in India as Congress couldn't escape from Dynasty and RSS from Medieval mentality.
@SavitriEraParty: The BLD initiative that precipitated forty years back & changed the course of Indian political history harbours great potentials even today.
@SavitriEraParty: Movements & alliances are transitory phenomena since our Constitution is biased towards single Party ruling the country. BLD can re-emerge.
@SavitriEraParty: In the absence of definite & viable alternative people's choice don't get reflected accurately. BLD can present itself as serious contender.
@SavitriEraParty: Pragati Legislature Party was formed in 1973 by Utkal Congress, Swatantra Party & others in Odisha that paved formation of BLD a year later.
@SavitriEraParty: No one should dream of 272 in 2014 without UP, Bihar, Bengal, and Odisha. Why do people prefer self-deluding stories is indeed a mystery!
@SavitriEraParty: @Realist_Indian Yeah, in terms of the floating vote since SP's base is more than secured.
@SavitriEraParty: @RaisinaSeries @hemantbhatia The RS route for PM is a fraud on the intention of the Constitution of India which needs to be done away with.
@SavitriEraParty: Vinoba, JP, & V.P. Singh have given India the most penetrating political interventions through their versatility and engagement with masses.
@SavitriEraParty: @Realist_Indian Nehru wrote a few books which still serve as fodder for a whole generation of Leftist scholars to fuel publishing industry.
@SavitriEraParty: @kesarmakwanou Style belongs to personal preference as aesthetic choices undergo change as one ages. Fidelity rather is of greater concern.
@SavitriEraParty: @kesarmakwanou Oh! Great. Reading it is like viewing a period movie; one has to go back in time to enjoy the frames fully. Happy reading!
@SavitriEraParty: Those who find it hard to digest Sri Aurobindo's treatises on Philosophy and Yoga can take up the 5 Plays written by him as an entry point.
@SavitriEraParty: @sarvatragam Nothing personal, but it's symptomatic of how distant is Sri Aurobindo from the mind-space of both Right and the Left in India.
@SavitriEraParty: The vision of Sri Aurobindo will take effect on the shoulders of the lovers of Sri Aurobindo. It hardly matters if sundry eggheads block it!
@SavitriEraParty: TL not for addressee alone [harshpolicy: @SavitriEraParty I genuinely respect Aurobindo but if you spam my TL again sir you will be blocked]
@SavitriEraParty: @harshpolicy I exercise my freedom on Twitter and so do you. It'd be history if you consider Sri Aurobindo as spam!
@SavitriEraParty: @harshpolicy They have served their purpose well so that upon their firm backdrop the vision of Sri Aurobindo can be painted most vividly.
@SavitriEraParty: @harshpolicy With ample borrowings from Sri Aurobindo and his Integral Ontology that is now well-acclaimed all over the world. #FiveDreams
@SavitriEraParty: @thinkoutofbox Imagining a world free of evil is a far off dream & only by collaborating with The Mother & Sri Aurobindo it may be achieved.
@SavitriEraParty: @kesarmakwanou Hope you discover a new India through the story of Sri Aurobindo and his observations on wide ranging topics. Happy reading!
@SavitriEraParty: @harshpolicy Tradition is no unmixed territory and, if espoused uncritically, can be disastrous. Sri Aurobindo lends the critical apparatus.
@SavitriEraParty: @harshpolicy The Mother & Sri Aurobindo, when they first met a century back on March 29, 1914, made sure that a new integration dawns.
@SavitriEraParty: @VikasSaraswat Sri Aurobindo has already factored in such history of the world and prescribed necessary behavioural changes on our part.
@SavitriEraParty: @VikasSaraswat No one can direct own life's journey & external influences do alter our thought & action. Religious affiliation is cultural.
@SavitriEraParty: @VikasSaraswat Some1 is not a fixed creature & is a product of his times & genes. Age & experience teach him & turn him an agent of change.
@SavitriEraParty: @VikasSaraswat You have used the word "witness" in an abstract sense and Mathematics is also abstract. Blueprint is essential for building.
@SavitriEraParty: @VikasSaraswat Evolution is like the Earth rushing forth in its orbit; we hardly notice it. Its action is uniform upon the whole human race.
@SavitriEraParty: @VikasSaraswat You seem to assume the present as fixed whereas it's Evolutionary for Sri Aurobindo as more & more people come to his thought.
@SavitriEraParty: @ashutoshibn7 Only Sri Aurobindo knew precisely which way to follow and even lent his support to the Cripps Mission. But others were blind!
@SavitriEraParty: @AgentSaffron Neither Savarkar nor Ambedkar is a solution to the present problems. Only Sri Aurobindo surpasses the secular/communal binary.
@SavitriEraParty: @irfhabib Imagining the old religions as something fixed is at the heart of all disharmony. The Mother & Sri Aurobindo hew the way out.
@SavitriEraParty: @anityakr Subjective assessment of prevailing political climate soaked in personal wish. Not to be taken too seriously; future is uncertain.
@SavitriEraParty: @RavikiranRao Sri Aurobindo holds that the original perhaps consisted of first 6 chapters with next 6 as additions. Last 6 came much later.
@SavitriEraParty: @hmadhok Politicians also suffer failure, humiliation, and rejection as power is neither permanent nor assured. These are religious virtues.
@SavitriEraParty: @SandeepDikshit @gsurya Right ground for dividing UP into four segments so that such statistics sounds less alarming and governance returns.
@SavitriEraParty: @anityakr That's difficult to predict and depends upon the quality of campaigning at local level. Caste of the candidate is also important.
@SavitriEraParty: All said and done, UP is going to decide who would be PM in 2014. The likely position is: SP- 40, BSP- 20, BJP- 10, RLD- 5, Cong- 3, AAP- 2.
@SavitriEraParty: @sujataanandan @scotchism @rupagulab No sleight of hand needed. State-wise numbers favour Advani as the most acceptable person as PM in 2014.
@SavitriEraParty: @BhaskarChat Advani's praise is for Gujarat alone, not beyond. That's his old stand.
@SavitriEraParty: @gopimaliwal Democracy makes it incumbent on all citizens to ponder over public affairs and scrutinising political parties & their policies.

It appears odd that the President visits the Sri Aurobindo Ashram overlooking the ongoing judicial probe of it. While his message is most suited to the political atmosphere prevailing in the country, avoiding the visit at this juncture would have been more in the fitness of things. We know the worthy ones whose hidden hands are behind this Constitutional impropriety and what they are trying to achieve by this, but we repose our faith on the judiciary. Curiously, a probe by the Govt. officer was opposed even before it started but we fail to understand how a retired judge can be immune to external influences. [TNM55]

Evolution and Advani

@SavitriEraParty: Sri Aurobindo's vision of the future rolled out in 1914 through a monthly magazine named Arya. Young Indians must wake to his exhortations.
@SavitriEraParty: Sri Aurobindo was prescient enough to formulate an alternative version of Indianhood than what is offered by the Congress, RSS, or the Left.
@SavitriEraParty: BJP, like BSP, is a victim of an imaginary certainty of mustering a majority constituency. BJP is cocksure on theory while #AAP of practice.
@SavitriEraParty: Like Andhra Pradesh, BJP is finding it hard to keep its three factions together owing to overdose of presumed patriotism and righteousness.
@SavitriEraParty: R, A, M represent the present three factions of the BJP. While R is the Tamasic and M, the Rajasic, A constitutes the Sattwic propensities.
@SavitriEraParty: @gopimaliwal Please look at the future in configuring the evolutionary role of Advani instead of relying too much on examples from history.
@SavitriEraParty: @gopimaliwal But you seem to be totally clueless as to the source of the darkness and Advani has better intuition to sense it & act & lead.
@SavitriEraParty: @gopimaliwal Difficult to hazard a guess as to the possible trajectory of the Zeitgeist but Advani definitely has a prominent role in future.
@SavitriEraParty: No doubt Advani heads a faction today but it's the evolutionary wing in the BJP ready to learn & change unlike RSS hardcore or the matadors.
@SavitriEraParty: The most pragmatic and realist truth is that Advani is BJP since he created it and so to expect that he gets out of it is downright foolish.
@SavitriEraParty: Not Savarkar or Golwalkar, it's Advani who like Lenin brought the Hindutva to life and limelight. He must be given opportunity to mend it.

Savitri to the rescue

Plurality of voices among the devotees of The Mother & Sri Aurobindo as articulated over the Internet today reflects confusion and lack of consensus that is characteristic of the human condition. Despite his substantial philosophical and poetic output of great repute, Sri Aurobindo remains just a shadowy figure in the national memory and his association with The Mother is looked upon as a mystery. The Mother is also continuously compared to the other women from the West like Blavatsky, Besant, Nivedita, and Teresa and misconceptions about her contributions persist. The Ashram, unfortunately, has not been able to issue an authorised biography of The Mother or Sri Aurobindo till date, despite possessing all material resources. The ongoing dispute plaguing the Ashram is further corroding whatever credibility came to be associated with the name of The Mother & Sri Aurobindo over the years.
Sri Aurobindo's matured theorising 1914 onwards are, in fact, in response to the major debates going on in the West during the previous Century. The West, of course, is bringing back their old Masters after regular intervals; Living Thought by Roberto Esposito is a case in point. But the predominantly spiritual philosophy of Sri Aurobindo is less likely to earn many takers given the critical socio-political situation prevailing in the country. Savitri, therefore, stands a much better chance of being popular as an evocative piece of poetry venting emancipatory sentiments. [TNM55]

Savitri Era Devotees oviate Sri Aurobindo

The most interesting aspect about the forthcoming Situating Sri Aurobindo: A Reader (Edited by Peter Heehs, OUP India, 376 pages) is that “This book looks beyond Aurobindo's textual sources to his vision of the future.” There is no denying that only a panoptic view right from 1893 to 2013 can give a faithful picture of the Master’s legacy. His Ontology is too complex and deriving a composite view covering his plural texts is not an easy task. Further, neither his Yoga practice nor Political praxis appeals to the common man. But what has expanded is the regular religious celebrations and periodical pilgrimages. Even then, faithfuls are unwilling to designate it as a Religion.

The Mother & Sri Aurobindo stand outside their own texts. How the Savitri Era Devotees accommodate Their memory and inspiration within their own subjective continents is far more contingent and significant than what is buried in the cold print. This itself transforms the whole Ontology so diligently crafted by Sri Aurobindo. Thus, the truth is that unless we assign the Savitri Era Religion the central place, the Ontological confusion will continue. When the twin divinity of Mother & Sri Aurobindo is accorded its rightful place, then the rest of the architecture falls into place, automatically. Even, the current controversy surrounding the Ashram is not devoid of its philosophical dimensions. [TNM55]

Sri Aurobindo constitutes a major shift

In his paper The Advance of Indian Philosophy in the Work of J.N. Mohanty Stephen H. Phillips observes that "Indian civilization flows in deep-hewn channels of ethical and spiritual positions, so deep, perhaps, as to rule out, as a practical matter, any major shift." But Phillips himself has authored books on Sri Aurobindo and understands how he has reconfigured many of the traditional interpretations including the Veda. This, however, has not adequately spread among the scholars and much of academic philosophy is yet to accommodate Sri Aurobindo's thesis of Integral Evolution.
Sri Aurobindian Ontology, thankfully, saves us from a materialist viewpoint that the Marxists peddle endlessly. It comes with a definite teleology and thus discards the Atheists' arguments. Further, the Ontology itself reorients the mind so as to spur Yoga practice. The most important facet is its Universalist feature promotes human unity and harmony.
I was introduced to the Word Union movement 30 years back when it was observing its Silver Jubilee. Not much headway in practical terms on The World Union Day but the dream lives on. [TNM55]

Ontology is the opium

Many may not be aware of a wonderful book titled, "Dante and Sri Aurobindo: A Comparative Study of the Divine Comedy and Savitri" (1982) by Prema Nandakumar. It's a must read to understand how much Sri Aurobindo is indebted to Dante who he used to admire apart from the similarities in the story of their lives. Savitri is surely modelled on the elaborate architecture Dante erected in his poem which, indisputably, enhances the profundity of the Vedic paradigm. (That it creates more complexity for hapless devotees to compare and remember corresponding narrations elsewhere is a different matter.)
An Odia proverb underscores that one can breeze through even the cremation ground of a new village as easily as crossing the river of his own. This is exactly what Ontology is; in the former instance, ignorance facilitates while it's knowledge in the latter. The popular notion is that Religion is the opium but the reality is that it's Ontology which binds us and drives our action. Thus, logic has a role to introduce a new version of Ontology into one's mind. The contribution of The Mother & Sri Aurobindo in this noble venture, therefore, is unparalleled.
I have just posted a few links at SELF by going through which the enormity of the problem of clutching on to the old Ontologies comes to the fore. Levi similarly, in his latest post, has held aloft his familiar version with usual aplomb and sophistication. In this scenario, we need to be firmly convinced that by popularising the idea of Integral Evolution alone that real progress can come and not by endlessly tolerating worn-out fictions. [TNM55]

Situating Sri Aurobindo poses a real ideological challenge

It'd be a safe assumption to say that 80 percent people are averse to reading, may be even more. Even our eyes, I remember to have read somewhere, are not designed to undertake the burden of reading. Discussing or listening to a speech is more attractive as vitality, obviously, is more involved there while reading is an asocial activity. More people can spend time by silently listening to music while the library will be deserted. This is perhaps the reason why Religions rely less on books and more on other paraphernalia.
8,000 devotees visited the Ashram on the Darshan Day in Puducherry. The percentage of readers here will certainly be substantially higher as books occupy a central place in the Savitri Era Religion. The task of disseminating a new Ontology is very much upon each devotee of The Mother & Sri Aurobindo. Here our fight is not only with the old Religions but also against the formidable apparatus of Philosophy as well as Science. As a young religion, we must always be vigilant against encouraging anti-intellectualism and easygoing ritualism that is prevalent so widely.
The fallout of Heehs imbroglio has unfortunately engulfed the whole Ashram and Situating Sri Aurobindo, therefore, poses a real ideological challenge. It seems that the fault-line more or less is aligned to the divide in the national politics and hence the stake is considerably higher. If only our resident satirist could think straight and avoid contorted humour! [TNM55]
