Through something in this world

Emphasising upon the opportunity that this life offers is a recurrent theme in the teaching of Sri Aurobindo. His Integral Evolution, by definition, is dependent upon whatever this world provides although the aim is transformation and perfection.
"we must go beyond these to a supreme Good, a transcendent Truth, Light and Beauty in which the opposite figures of what we call evil disappear. But still, being in this world, it is only through something in this world itself that we can transcend it; it is through its figures that we must find the absolute." (Kena and other Upanishads, p.93)

Born on August 14,1908 near Cuttack, Ramakrishna Das - popularly known as Babaji Maharaj as he was a sanyasi at Ayodhya - after being admitted into the Sri Aurobindo Ashram at Puducherry in 1945, started translation work in Odia with the help of Charu Chandra Dutta. Anyone who is acquainted with the massive way that his pioneering effort has transformed the scene in Odisha can understand the direct action of The Mother's Grace. Babaji, unhesitatingly, had adopted all available resources for expansion of Schools and Relics Centres across the State without waiting for ideal conditions. Our homage to this visionary leader and reformer.
