Worshipping The Mother & Sri Aurobindo as the one Supreme Divine who are always present in their three poises, - individual, universal, and transcendent, - and lead the evolutionary march is the prime role of the devotees. Savitri Era Religion has a global vision for #WorldUnion.
If the Chief Justice can utter a religious slogan, the devotees of The Mother & Sri Aurobindo should take a lesson as to how to further our narrative. Savitri Era Party has been trying to popularise the political ideals of #SriAurobindo encapsulated in his #FiveDreams broadcast.
Ramakrishna Hegde was the most suitable candidate but H.D. Deve Gowda denied him the opportunity by himself becoming the Prime Minister. Not only that, he forced Lalu Prasad Yadav to expel him from Janata Dal. Modi, similarly, had forced Gadkari to remove Sanjay Joshi from posts.
Sri Aurobindo was born in India and went to England for education. The Mother was born in France and came to India to meet Sri Aurobindo. It's difficult to explain the mystery of these events and at Savitri Era Religion, we worship them as the one Supreme Divine. All are welcome.
There are many handles who use the pictures of The Mother & Sri Aurobindo or their symbols as their DP. This looks very odd considering the sacredness of their pictures and symbols. Similarly, pasting quotations from their writings without informing the context can be misleading.
It is important to analyse the current political atmosphere in the light of The Human Cycle by Sri Aurobindo. Savitri Era Party is against Hindutva and believes that its influence will wane. Fraternity will be the fundamental principle for future politics. Harmony and not hatred.
Arun Shourie has written more than thirty books but I haven't read any. I used to be a fan of his columns in the Indian Express. My interest in him dwindled due to his association with BJP. He is seen as a founding father of Nationalist sentiment. He brought many things to light.
Sri Aurobindo's books provide an alternative paradigm to Western thought. It is also an advancement over Indian and Buddhist philosophies. His poetry reaches new heights in aesthetics. His hermeneutical reading of the Veda breaks new ground in apperception of inner consciousness.
The Mother & Sri Aurobindo are talking about the future evolution; a new race. Descent of the Supramental consciousness is possible only through the joint action of our aspiration and their grace. Thus, worshipping them as the one Supreme Divine is an indispensable precondition.
Sri Aurobindo wrote at a time when Western thought was in turmoil. Reading his books is necessary for comparing different points of view in order to draw the right conclusions. Otherwise it is one-sided knowledge. No other thinker in the world provides such wide-ranging insights.
Devotees have every right to ask the Divine for fulfilment of their personal wishes (for what else is the use of the Divine for?) but demanding in public that The Mother & Sri Aurobindo fulfill their promises in a surcharged atmosphere of war, hatred, and frenzy is inappropriate.
An important element of Savitri Era Religion is that we believe The Mother & Sri Aurobindo defeated Hitler. No historian would support this but it is part of our mythology. For this purpose, Churchill became their instrument. Churchill may have other vices but he is great for us.
Subhas Chandra Bose was born in Cuttack, Odisha, who rose to be a legendary figure. Fondly remembered as Netaji, he has a special place in the hearts of almost all Bengalis. However, we at Savitri Era Religion don't rever him as a great person due to his association with Hitler.
There is a misconception about the Map of India in Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Puducherry.
Myth: The Map was drawn by The Mother.
Fact: It was originally drawn by a few disciples who planned to present it to The Mother as a surprise. She, however, revised it and drew it herself, later.
Ambedkar compares Buddha with Marx for analysing the possibility of an ideal society. Sri Aurobindo, interestingly, takes the evolutionary approach and talks about successive stages reflecting higher consciousness. Thus ethics needn't be imposed but would bloom as part of nature.
#SriAurobindo (1872 - 1950) can be remembered in diverse contexts but worshipping The Mother & Sri Aurobindo as the one Supreme Divine is the central principle of Savitri Era Religion. It considers their writings bound by the limitations of time and, therefore, avoids literalism.
Peter Heehs has been writing since 1988 and has over a dozen books to his credit. His latest is The Mother: A Life of Sri Aurobindo's Spiritual Collaborator. Mirra Alfassa (1878 - 1973) came to meet Sri Aurobindo in Puducherry in 1914 and never looked back.
Can't say about original doctrine, but the current votaries of Hindutva seem to rely on it for all kinds of solutions. There's no need to slug but only highlight how others are not allowing it to flower. Blaming others takes away responsibility with splendid opportunity for glee.
People in India are not aware of the history of Constitution and most believe Ambedkar wrote it. So to make a neat narrative weaving all available ancient texts to claim infallibility is something absurd. Hindu religion around mythology is fine but why add metaphysics and ethics?
Intellectual atmosphere is too confused in India today due to political fights. Modern day gurus also keep their devotees ignorant. Reading the books of The Mother & Sri Aurobindo through self-effort is the only way to derive right insights. Avoiding mythology and rituals needed.
The Life Divine by Sri Aurobindo provides a sound metaphysical framework for the modern mind. It also responds to Darwin, Nietzsche, Bergson, and Freud. Besides, it explains the questions raised by Royce and James. The Human Cycle by him is an alternative vision to that of Marx.
In The Synthesis of Yoga, Sri Aurobindo has described numerous spiritual principles in an excellent manner. These largely fall in the category of personal effort. But when it comes to practice, no one feels capable. The Life Divine, conversely, assures evolutionary inevitability.
Savitri Era Religion facilitates worshipping The Mother & Sri Aurobindo as the one Supreme Divine without the tyranny of any mythology or rituals. It also forestalls comparing them with others unnecessarily. Defeating Hitler is the most crucial achievement of their outward lives.
When I first heard the phrase Operation Sindoor, I felt sure that it's the work of RSS and not the Army. Because why any military person would think in this emotional manner? For them it's just a code. Now that the phrase is being bandied about in the streets, my guess was exact!
The Ashram was established by The Mother & Sri Aurobindo with the objective that its members may dedicate themselves in the spiritual direction without much concern for material needs. But without transformation of human nature, this aim remains unfulfilled after their departure.
I have subscribed to more than one hundred YouTube channels dealing with yoga and philosophy of The Mother & Sri Aurobindo. Unfortunately, many are not mentioning Sri Aurobindo in the title of the videos due to which they don't appear in the search results.
Religious spirit in worshipping The Mother & Sri Aurobindo as the one Supreme Divine is admirable but the same zeal to prove their writings & conversations as self-evident truth, or infallible, or true for ever is a negative tendency. Texts must be subjected to critical scrutiny.
Democracy and Nation building on one front and Evolution of collective consciousness on the other has been the ideal during the last sixty years, but nothing appreciable has happened. Worshipping The Mother & Sri Aurobindo as the one Supreme Divine therefore is the only recourse.
A Nation isn't something abstract or purely material. It's about people and their struggles. Disputing the structure of society is the domain of politics. Conflict between divergent views should lead to the Integral solution as Sri Aurobindo proposes in his #FiveDreams Manifesto.
Savitri Era Religion worships The Mother & Sri Aurobindo as the one Supreme Divine without any connection with the old religions or philosophies. They have been present at every turn of the Evolutionary history, and lead its march towards descent of the Supramental consciousness.
I also used to believe that so many political leaders died because of Indira Gandhi. But since you are a supporter of her, you won't agree.
Intellectual lethargy is not allowing people to accept the philosophy of The Mother & Sri Aurobindo. Present political situation has also made the hold of Hindutva more powerful. But this period will not last long. The evolutionary arrow will pulverise all obstacles on its way.
Remembering The Mother & Sri Aurobindo and seeking their grace is an act of collaboration with evolution. Reading Savitri or other books by them also amounts to the same. Keeping away from mythology and rituals is an important task. "Om Anandamayi Chaitanyamayi Satyamayi Parame."
Each to their own and devotees of The Mother & Sri Aurobindo are free to practice Integral yoga as they deem fit. If they are able to integrate it with other religions, it's for them to explain. But my idea of it reflects my lived example which I theorise as Savitri Era Religion.
