Letters written by Sri Aurobindo to different disciples in the Ashram cannot be applied mutatis mutandis to everyone now that his and The Mother's direct spiritual force is absent. One cannot simply read books and claim to be practicing the Yoga correctly. Surrender is necessary.
Worshipping The Mother & Sri Aurobindo as the one Supreme Divine and surrender to them under Savitri Era Religion is an indispensable aspect of their philosophy and yoga. It is an act of collaboration with aspiration of earth's consciousness for seeking Supramental consciousness.
Like the eminent historians, some people made a name as intellectuals by milking Hindutva, during the last decade. But scholarship is unsustainable without wide reading, and works of Sri Aurobindo form the bedrock of Indian situation. Unfortunately, they upturn the Hindutva boat!
Each sentence of Sri Aurobindo contains multiple arrows criticising received wisdom. He is establishing a new philosophy and a new orientation in thought. Deeply aware of human weaknesses and hold of the past on him, he promises the Supramental through evolutionary inevitability.
In our childhood, a prayer called Ahe dayamaya biswabihari was recited in school written by Ramakrushna Nanda. Similar prayers by Madhusudan Rao were also popular. Though Marathi and Brahmo, he is considered as the Father Of Modern Odia Poetry along with Radhanath Ray, a Bengali.
In order to herald his new philosophy Sri Aurobindo published the Arya magazine in 1914 with minimal resources. It's paradoxical that in the age of Social media and AI, communication about him and his ideology remains handicapped. It doesn't bother much his devotees or followers!

Thankfully, Vivekananda is nowhere in the reckoning now. Ambedkar, pitiably, has become the rope in the current tug of war, while poor, Karpatri Maharaj is pushed to rub shoulder with Savarkar! Somehow, Sri Aurobindo remains a favoured fixture in all these permutations. Et voilà!
There was no good option for Ambedkar when he converted to Buddhism. But today Savitri Era Religion is a viable alternative anchored in the evolutionary philosophy of The Mother & Sri Aurobindo who are always present in their three poises: individual, universal, and transcendent.
Savitri Era Learning Forum (SELF) has been in the job of foregrounding Sri Aurobindo and his Integral outlook based on the evolutionary schema of The Life Divine since 2005. Savitri Era Religion worships The Mother & Sri Aurobindo as the one Supreme Divine who are always present.
In many instances Sri Aurobindo is referred to without any mention of The Mother. This is erroneous since they are one consciousness and represent an Integral philosophy. Sri Aurobindo's writings before their meeting in 1914 therefore should be given less weightage than of later.
My understanding of the castes is that it can't be wished away. Whether birth-based or work-based division of labour is indispensable just like separation of powers in a democracy. Varuna appears in the Veda and Zend-Avesta. Sri Aurobindo's interpretation of it resembles Brahmin.
It's really intriguing that it took half-a-century to decode this much. It may take another half-a-century for arriving at Sri Aurobindo!
With my life of seventy years on this planet, I can't claim to be aware of 7000 years of history or philosophy. Even to be informed adequately about 700 years is also a tall order. However relying on The Mother & Sri Aurobindo gives a balanced overview. Be Indian; be Aurobindian!
It's not without significance that Sri Aurobindo was present at the time of Independence which came on his 75th birthday. It should be remembered that each top leader had an appointed role and hence needless criticism of him is unwarranted. Some have temerity even to deride RRMR!

Sri Aurobindo has created a new dictionary of Sanskrit in the course of his writing The Secret of the Veda. He has also many other theories with regard to language and interpretation. Being acquainted with them can provide a better understanding of traditional culture and wisdom.
Complete silence of BJP supporters on any negative aspect of the Govt. sends shivers down the spine. This doesn't look like democracy and that too in the time of social media and AI. No criticism of the party even. Mythological model of Monarchy seems to hold sway. Hindu Rashtra!

That's an old complain aired by a few known hawks. But to his credit, Modi has functioned all along as UPA-3, ideologically. However, there have been major issues on democracy front.
