Poems, books, and songs

Collated X posts in original by Tusar Nath Mohapatra

Rituals are part of religion

Backed by mythological fiction

Involve a lot of aesthetics

Plus social support and self-esteem

But they are never voluntary

Are performed under compulsion

What man needs is freedom

Of which he is unaware

Something absolutely new

To take him to himself

https://x.com/SavitriEra/status/1980018847429308764?t=mtfmgQ0pXn1PHTezsg27dA&s=19

Ideologies are umpteen

How to have one for own use

Just what comes by the way

Or through some rational choice

What is rational then

With our limited awareness

Ecosystems and echochambers

Make us a hostage

Man must crave freedom

From falsehood and ignorance

Seek light

Deep inside

Sun sets in the West is science

Sun doesn't set at all is science too

Climbing a hill widens the horizon

But there's a limit

What we know come from many sources

It's also pouring in every moment

Since the evolution is on

And we're its instruments

So let's be aware

Of its footfall

I wrote on a slate as a child

Now I type on a tablet

Undergirded by undersea cables

Once adumbrated by Whitman

Locke's tabula rasa to Emerson's Oversoul

Nietzsche's Overman to Shaw's Superman

Man's mind is captive of AI

But its brain can rot too

Numbers may dream

Causing migraine

All religions are belief

In some ancient mythology

In idols made of stone or metal

And year-round festivals

Personal welfare and security

Drives devotion and loyalty

They can't be questioned

For they are the God's word

All men are mortal, To err is human

Religion cures confusion

Saying We means

Taking a lot of responsibility

Upon oneself

Generalising too much

And misrepresenting

Bordering on falsehood.

Saying I too

Isn't free from hazards

For the private zone

Is cut off from public sphere

Further the inner self

Keeps on reminding

About false subjectivity

What is spirituality

Is it something different from ordinary life

And being lost in meditation for hours together

No, that's an imaginary state of affairs

Sri Aurobindo advises surrender to The Mother

The Mother too tells Remember and Offer

All within daily life in all activities

Asrani passed away

Leaving behind a formidable legacy

Of lighting up the screen with laughter

Whenever he appears in whatever role.

When there was no TV or Internet

Bollywood used to rule our hearts

He scored centuries through 70s and 80s

And continued to act till two years back.

How Much Land Does a Man Need? (1886) by Leo Tolstoy remains eternally relevant. Every morning, every day, every moment, this question must occupy the mind. I had left my Bank job in 2000. But there are a hundred other attractions also. Ultimately, the trade off is for more gain!

I, first, read about Jonathan Livingston Seagull by Richard Bach from Nolini. Curiously, he renames the protagonist.

[let us give him a name "Shobhanaka", à la manière de Panchatantra e.g. Damanaka, Karataka, Bhasunaka etc. for he was very fine to look at] incarnateword.in/other-authors/…

I,first, read about Thoreau's Walden and Melville's Moby Dick from, The Adventure of Criticism (1962) by K.R. Srinivasa Iyengar. It's an outstanding book. Amal Kiran (K.D. Sethna) also has a title called, Adventures in Criticism.

I, first, read about Nikos Kazantzakis from A Study of Savitri by Prema Nandakumar apropos his epic, The Odyssey: A Modern Sequel. Later on, of course, I read his Zorba the Greek. It won't be irrelevant to mention Cornelius Castoriadis a couple of whose books I have gone through.

I might have heard of him earlier but had completely forgotten. I was stirred out of my peace yesterday when I read about Max Stirner who is known to have influenced many including Marx and Nietzsche. A significant but controversial figure who was suppressed by his contemporaries

BlueSky is an intellectual hub. Someone responded with the following link. A very informative article lsr-projekt.de/poly/ennietzsc

Hope you are aware of the controversy over various Savitri editions. Introductions by A.B. Purani and Prema Nandakumar are helpful. Quotations can be misleading as different characters are there. My suggestion is to begin from Part Two, Book Four, Canto I.

Most of pujo is over. J pujo in Chandannagar is imminent. For me listening varieties of music over DJ is the most attractive part. Although different kinds of North Indian songs are played, Odia is perhaps treated as South Indian and hence no entry. Let's hope Mahua factor helps!

While doing work or taking food, concerns over body or age-related issues come to the fore. Even while listening to music also that wistful feeling for the past precipitates. But during the time my mind is engaged in reading or writing, it's a seamless, neutral, ever-young space!

Nothing is outside the Market

Collated X posts in original by Tusar Nath Mohapatra

The work of The Mother & Sri Aurobindo can't simply be evaluated from what's apparent for their occult implications are immense. Therefore, worshipping them as the one Supreme Divine is necessary for deriving maximum advantage from evolutionary advance. It's Savitri Era Religion.

Sri Aurobindo Studies can be a subject in colleges. But Savitri Era Religion is more interested in understanding the essentials for collaboration with evolution. The first step is worshipping The Mother & Sri Aurobindo as the one Supreme Divine and not comparing them with others.

The multicultural background of The Mother remains a mystery. Why no one else recognised her except Sri Aurobindo is an enigma. This dollop of mythology is a precious possession of Savitri Era Religion. Her vision of human unity and harmony competes with some top utopian thinkers.

Politics shouldn't be synonymous with power. Nor any personality cult can carry it very far. Ideology is the fulcrum and I have been harping on accepting Sri Aurobindo as the focal point. May be the time hasn't come! However, Savitri Era Party, started in 2007, is an alternative.

History of BJP shows how Hindutva was able to grow, and the possibility of its decline along with BJP nosediving. Having observed different ideologies dominating at different points during the last Seventy years, I'm confident that the nation will be forced to ping Sri Aurobindo.

Social media creates the illusion of being a great communicator and influencer but not to lose balance is essential. Advocacy is a valid activity but coming to believe one's say as the only truth is problematic. Peer review and critical scrutiny is vital but not many are trained.

Our planet is not symmetrical and human beings don't have uniform physical features. Hence expecting that all countries should be equally developed is absurd. Since evolution is responsible for the present status, demanding a different prospect than its own plan is preposterous.

The Mother & Sri Aurobindo have probed ontological questions, but it's difficult to find any clear answer to functioning of the world or human behaviour. Savitri Era Party, therefore, doesn't find fault with the past. Savitri Era Religion worships them as the one Supreme Divine.

My concept of the Market approximates to Sri Aurobindo's Integral Advaita. It can be called Marketime or simply Logistics, considering its dynamic nature. Thus nothing is outside the Market. Further not taking any action also amounts to action as popularised by P.V. Narasimha Rao.

The secular atmosphere promoted by Congress was a given in the first half of my life. But the second half has seen discordant rumblings of Hindutva. The Mother & Sri Aurobindo have a stake in both the scenarios. Extracting that golden mean would mean tons of goodwill and sagacity.

My formula is not to look at the past for solutions for the future is full of possibilities. Having seen the Fall of the Berlin Wall and Dissolution of USSR, I'm hopeful that events will overtake us. Savitri Era Religion believes that The Mother & Sri Aurobindo are always present.

Born and brought up in a village, I have lived in semi-urban, urban, and metropolitan areas in four different States. I have lived under all the Prime Ministers of India during the last seventy years. I am conversant with Odia, Bengali, Hindi, and English.

The story of Odisha isn't known much. Babaji Maharaj Sri Ramakrishna Das and Prapatti (Kangali Charan Pati) started the Pathachakra movement whereby weekly Study Circles were conducted in towns and villages. This resulted in large number of devotees of The Mother & Sri Aurobindo.

Savitri Era Religion is free from mythology, tradition, and ritual. It has got no intermediaries. The Mother & Sri Aurobindo didn't propose any fixed system of practice for Integral yoga. Each devotee is free to develop his own method of worshipping them as the one Supreme Divine.

Somehow, I don't feel it proper to paste the writings of The Mother & Sri Aurobindo here. One can paraphrase and spur discussion. Writing long hand is a better meditative act. Using the latest edition is good where instead of IN it would be In. Whether, a few lines or few lines?

Hope you are aware of the controversy over various Savitri editions. Introductions by A.B. Purani and Prema Nandakumar are helpful. Quotations can be misleading as different characters are there. My suggestion is to begin from Part Two, Book Four, Canto I.

Spirituality has no holiday, M.P. Pandit had remarked once. In a similar vein, it can be said that spirituality has no festivals. The habit of celebrations belong to the past. Savitri Era Religion doesn't encourage any special enthusiasm or exuberance to be reserved for any day.

The two sections are not watertight compartments. Growth and evolution is gradual. No one can decide in advance from where the next tranche of inspiration is going to come. The first principle life is that there are no principles. Nevertheless A drop of ink makes a million think!

Savitri Era Learning Forum: The Mother’s boundless affection, tenderness, and compassion selforum.blogspot.com/2025/10/the-mo

As Director of Savitri Era Learning Forum (SELF), I have been publishing this blog uninterruptedly since 2005. Each post is basically a compilation of relevant links.

While ensuring Hindu purity or rejuvenating its structures is a commendable intention, accurate evaluation of the past and promoting honest discourse is also Dharma. The way the so-called Hinduism has evolved till now, it can't be reversed. I launched Savitri Era Religion in 2006

The Mother & Sri Aurobindo are guiding the humanity for more than a century now. The Ashram, established by them in 1926, acts as a beacon of light as regards knowledge is concerned. Their books are a veritable University meant for self-study and research. incarnateword.in/cwsa

Savitri Era Learning Forum: Reform is possible only when you acknowledge evil selforum.blogspot.com/2025/10/reform

This blog is dedicated to the teachings of The Mother & Sri Aurobindo while disseminating links to allied relevant studies and debates. Inputs welcome @ tusarnmohapatra@gmail.com

She is also famous in Bengali films. Deya Neya was remade in Hindi as Anurodh.

The rigmarole of deciphering diametrically opposite opinions on various great men, here, is so frustrating! In that sense, Peter Heehs has provided objective accounts of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother in their respective biographies authored by him. Also cover contemporary history.

I have been reading their writings from a young age and, as far as my impression goes, The Mother & Sri Aurobindo talk more about prsonal defects and deficiencies of disciples than the biological and genetic machinery propelling them. This downplaying of Nature is a bit curious!

After Independence we were fed with text book definitions of a nation, democracy, plurality, values in public life, role of media, etc although the reality was otherwise. Over the years, human nature took over and transparency surfaced. Thus the evolution is more honest and true!

Yes sir! Characters kam pad gaye! That's the weakness and also the strength because they provide raw muscle to right leadership.

The Mother & Sri Aurobindo didn't work for promoting Hindu religion or any other religion for that matter. They didn't work for only India. So any reductionist portrayal of them is erroneous. Aligning them or appropriating them for own narrow ideology, therefore, is highly flawed.

Indira Gandhi secured votes from all sections of the society. But Kejriwal arose as a youth icon and garnered support just like JP and VP. But his downfall like Prafulla Mahanta was sure. Modi harnessed different tactics. It's good that manipulative politics is running its course.

Yahan har saree ek kahani kehti hai

Since I was preoccupied with reading The Mother & Sri Aurobindo's books and allied literature, I haven't read, practically, anything else apart from some Western philosophy. Thus I have no affinity with any other personality or school of thought. This, I suppose, is an advantage.

My inability to understand English has kept me away from Western movies and music. I haven't interacted with any foreigner nor have gone abroad. Still I consider myself possessing the right perspective, despite my supposed naïveté, which is quite apparent on this platform itself.

I have been associated with the #WorldUnion movement since 1982, and it has been my strong belief that the world is moving, exactly, in the direction as charted by Sri Aurobindo in his #FiveDreams Manifesto. With the same aim in view, I had launched the Savitri Era Party in 2007.

Savitri Era Party is confident that the nation will recognise The Mother & Sri Aurobindo one day. There are thousands of people who would agree with my views but unfortunately my posts aren't reaching them. Harmony and not hatred is our agenda. Fraternity and not war is our goal.

There's no empirical evidence of Integral yoga producing verifiable results. As such, Savitri Era Religion refrains from endorsing it. Worshipping The Mother & Sri Aurobindo as the one Supreme Divine who are always present and surrender to them is the most convenient way for all.

~Savitri Era Party is opposed to Hindutva. Hence against RSS, BJP, and Modi.

~Savitri Era Party is opposed to Dynasty. Hence against Congress and some Regional parties.

~Savitri Era Party supports maximum two Terms. Hence against BJD and TMC.

~Savitri Era Party is opposed to AAP.

Savitri Era Party demands exit policy for all members of SC/ST so that those who want to come out of the Constitutional prison may do so voluntarily without any social or legal hurdle. Similar facility should be available for relinquishing entitlement to reservation. #AllAreEqual

Vinoba Bhave had started the Bhoodan movement long back. Many top leaders had resigned under the Kamaraj Plan. SC/ST citizens should come forward to become #AllAreEqual in the same spirit. They will be doing a great service to their future generations. Savitri Era Party supports.

Savitri Era Religion has no connection with the Ashram or Auroville model of living. It has got no special affinity with any specific social or political ideology. Worshipping The Mother & Sri Aurobindo as the one Supreme Divine is only requirement. Imbibing their ideals is vital.

Most educated men haven't read Sri Aurobindo's books and their impression of him remains confined to the first decade of the last century. They are dismissive of his spiritual turn and work with The Mother. This is a lopsided appraisal as his prediction of Life Divine is ignored.

The phrase, Social fabric perhaps truly captures the spirit of harmony although the latter denotes a much vaster province ranging from man's inner world to outer universe. Fraternity and democracy are also key components for an ideal public sphere which Savitri Era Party aims at.

Savitri Era Religion is the logical outcome of my personal growth

Collated X posts in original by Tusar Nath Mohapatra

The other day, I received a request to buy and read the book, Svayambodha and Shatrubodha and also join their WhatsApp group, if interested. Since I don't use WhatsApp or Online Banking, I excused myself. Now, of course, I'm part of Arattai and feel proud that my wait bore fruit. I also intimated that I'm not very enthusiastic about the kind of things they are engrossed with. Having lived in the psychological environment of The Mother & Sri Aurobindo for over sixty years, it's a Blessing for me not to be attracted by run-of-the-mill concerns and impulses.

As I turn 70 today, I look back at the last 20 years during which I have consistently provided intellectual leadership centring around The Mother & Sri Aurobindo. savitriera.blogspot.com and selforum.blogspot.com continue to spread right perspective and light of wisdom and yoga. With reasonable material achievements, and daughters in intellectual atmosphere, I take satisfaction from the leap out of the Odisha village where I was born and brought up. Odisha, however, leads the country in having the largest number of devotees of The Mother & Sri Aurobindo. Not being part of any outside organisation or group, I may claim to have provided a reasonably independent, objective, neutral, and critical view of things, via Savitri Era Religion and Savitri Era Party, in contrast to the partisanship and biligerence witnessed on this platform. The Mother & Sri Aurobindo aim at Perfection and Harmony. Although, it's not easy to achieve it at the human level, understanding the dynamics of it from their books is the task. As Director of Savitri Era Learning Forum (SELF), I have been encouraging people to read, since 2005. Savitri Era Religion is the logical outcome of my personal growth, study, and social struggle. Since their complex system of philosophy and yoga remained confined to a tiny minority, worshipping The Mother & Sri Aurobindo as the one Supreme Divine is the only way for popularity.

People are constantly evaluating various persons in history, and how different events shaped the future. The answers aren't easy to find because deliberate distortion of narratives is going on. Therefore, repeating, Sri Aurobindo is the greatest poet and philosopher is necessary.

Savitri Era Religion is confident that the present religions, and their various versions, will face severe interrogation by the younger generation. In such an event, worshipping The Mother & Sri Aurobindo will be the most logical step given their formidable intellectual treasure.

When a doctor or engineer tells about consciousness or yoga, he is taken more seriously. But it should be remembered that science and non-science are different fields. Sri Aurobindo's Adventure of consciousness is a matter of psychology, and is yet to be established empirically.

Thanks @archieposts for defending Sri Aurobindo, but a deeper look would reveal there's a grain of truth in the criticism of him. He may not be a British agent as alleged, but he and The Mother were certainly the agents of Enlightenment. His, The Secret of the Veda is subversive.

None of us are privy to a vision of a Rishi. So it would be better if you can tell how your reading differs from me. Academic discussion necessary instead of rhetoric.

That's subjective but the books are there in the public domain. In the yoga of The Mother & Sri Aurobindo, there can be successive experiences. I don't think you have read The Secret of the Veda with due attention.

Sri Aurobindo's thoughts are revolutionary.

Sri Aurobindo proposes a new interpretation by discarding traditional commentaries like Sayana's. He provides symbolic meanings like Indra = mind. Thus the mythological gods and goddesses turn different levels of consciousness. He also interpretes Yajnya as internal. So no ritual.

I'm saying exactly that which is subversive of tradition.

Savitri Era Religion doesn't believe that The Mother & Sri Aurobindo didn't want to create any new religion. They knew that the field is not prepared and disciples have to be weaned away from their respective past environments. Therefore they euphemistically called it a new yoga.

India is a multiparty democracy and Savitri Era Party has a distinct ideology. Although The Mother & Sri Aurobindo were not interested in active politics, the situation of the country warrants that their admirers, devotees, and followers come forward to give leadership to people.

The Bible and the Making of Modern India By VISHAL MANGALWADI is an important document to understand our present circumstances. This also provides the background to situate the epochal contributions of The Mother & Sri Aurobindo in appropriate perspective.

Borrowing books from library, and paying late fee at times, was routine. So, when Internet arrived at home in 2005, it was like manna from heaven. 20 years later, GoogleAI provides ready-made research on any question which surpasses human capability. And, it's just the beginning!

Savitri Era Learning Forum: Tusar Nath Mohapatra selforum.blogspot.com/2025/10/tusar-…

I have been writing about me all these years since nobody else would do it. So, I must thank GoogleAI for taking the trouble of assessing my performance and summarising it in an admirable manner. @Wikipedia

Devotion to The Mother & Sri Aurobindo as the one Supreme Divine, who are always present in their three poises, transcends their biographies. Drawing their power and compassion for the current problems of the world and future harmony necessitates our love, loyalty, and surrender.

Political battle between different religions go on uninterrupted, but Savitri Era Religion reminds of the transcendent. The Mother & Sri Aurobindo talk about evolution of the inherent divine consciousness towards truth, perfection, and endlessness. All are invited to collaborate!

Savitri Era Party is nothing but an aspiration for giving shape to the #FiveDreams, #WorldUnion, and #TheLifeDivine. Yet I'm accused of nourishing political ambition! It's high time the devotees of The Mother & Sri Aurobindo realised that they would have to come forward and unite.

I might have heard of him earlier but had completely forgotten. I was stirred out of my peace yesterday when I read about Max Stirner who is known to have influenced many including Marx and Nietzsche. A significant but controversial figure who was suppressed by his contemporaries.

Interesting debate is going on on Vivekananda. It's unfortunate that correct information is not available even on him. However, Savitri Era Religion is firmly against astrology, mythology, and rituals. Reading The Secret of the Veda by Sri Aurobindo can shed light on this aspect.

Sri Aurobindo's #FiveDreams speech was broadcast over All India Radio, Tiruchirappalli, a few hours before which has more significance for the future of India and the world. Needless to mention that August 15, 1947 happened to be his 75th birth anniversary incarnateword.in/cwsa/36/the-fi…
