People keep on comparing and conflating Sri Aurobindo with others. It's a misleading job. Sri Aurobindo himself has a dozen facets. Understanding his each aspect and harmonising them with present reality is itself a challenging task. But most just mention him to signal erudition!

I have been writing on Sri Aurobindo here but the Hindutva brigade avoids me like the plague. For them the right knowledge or the right direction is not important but mythology is. Even now, when the caste is such a big issue, who else than Sri Aurobindo can come to their rescue?

The Constitution of India mandates a nation where all are equal. No doubt, many such ideals are drawn from the Bible or Western philosophers. But a more fundamental philosophical underpinning is provided by Sri Aurobindo. Engaging with him is necessary for right ideological clue.

Apart from The Mother book, several major works of Sri Aurobindo become relevant on the question of caste. They are Essays on the Gita, The Secret of the Veda, The Synthesis of Yoga, The Life Divine, and The Human Cycle. All devotees and followers must prepare for future debates.

Savitri Era Religion will cover the whole world, so that the fight among old religions vanishes. Worshipping The Mother & Sri Aurobindo as the one Supreme Divine is the only way for world peace and human unity. This is also evolutionarily ordained for achieving Vedic Immortality.

She has absolutely no relevance for others, nobody knows her; but for us she is everything, the golden bridge. Savitri Era Religion worships The Mother & Sri Aurobindo as the one Supreme Divine who are always present in their three poises: individual, universal, and transcendent.

By forming Savitri Era Religion in 2006 I affirmed that we have no connection with old religions. Our love, devotion, and surrender to The Mother & Sri Aurobindo is the only thing that counts. By starting Savitri Era Party in 2007 similarly I declared, we are against all parties.

We can be the ruling party. Just one person is needed to contest in each constituency. Thereafter, it's the choice of the people.

The Mother & Sri Aurobindo didn't start any new religion or political party. I created the Savitri Era banner after I got access to instant web publishing in 2005. I have been doing many ideological fine tuning over the years. Devotees and followers are requested to examine them.

Those who haven't read The Life Divine can't understand why I'm so optimistic about Savitri Era Religion or Savitri Era Party. The changes The Mother & Sri Aurobindo have foreseen won't happen overnight. Commensurate infrastructure has to be built for ushering in an ideal society. 

Savitri Era narrative has been successful to rescue the discourse on The Mother & Sri Aurobindo from the narrow confines of the Ashram or Auroville. The relevance of the #FiveDreams Manifesto is worldwide and hence a paradigm shift as regards practice of Integral yoga is overdue.

Savitri Era Party has been demanding returning Auroville to the devotees and withdrawing non-devotees from its administration. There should be a semblance of democracy in its functioning and it shouldn't be run like a govt development project. Reconising Savitri Era Religion too.

The Life Divine doesn't talk about any particular nation or religion. It doesn't talk about airports either. Yet it remains the most coherent explanation of why we are here and where we go from here. Without reading it, it is impossible to imagine its immensity and inevitability.

Savitri Era Party (2007), owing allegiance to The Mother & Sri Aurobindo, has been demanding abolition of reservations and all provisions in the Constitution relating to castes and religions. Social justice can't be achieved by prolonging discrimination perpetually. #FiveDreams

As Director of Savitri Era Learning Forum (SELF) since 2005, I have been highlighting that The Mother & Sri Aurobindo's legacy doesn't mean mere silent meditation but acquiring wide knowledge and political sensibilities for facing the fast-changing challenges of the modern world.

I'm appalled at the fact that people who are fairly conversant with Sri Aurobindo's The Human Cycle hold sympathies for almost an opposite kind of politics in India. Savitri Era Party, however, has an uncompromising stand apropos the past and promises to espouse enlightening way.

After listing Nineteen sets of irreconcilable contradictions, Goblipura Subbaramiah has recommended that every Indian child should learn Ramayana and Mahabharata. There is nothing more ridiculous than this. Ergo, Savitri Era Religion owes allegiance to The Mother & Sri Aurobindo.

Deeply aware of the bankruptcy of Hindutva as an ideology, Modi has been building his personal charisma in the model of mythological Monarchy. Though a successful formula, it is subversive of democracy. Savitri Era Party aspires for a political atmosphere, devoid of manipulation.

Sandeep Balakrishna has lamented in a post that people are not reading the history of Indian culture from primary sources in Indian languages. Now, this is a back-breaking task for the new generation! But he has not disclosed what scholars like him have established, conclusively.

A decade back, I had presented a paper in a Conference at Nitte contextualising The Mother & Sri Aurobindo's perspective which was published in their journal, Nitte Management Review. Reimagining and Refashioning Integral Management

The Mother came to India to meet Sri Aurobindo in 1914, and today is her birth anniversary. All those, who have ignored me all these years, haven't grown intellectually. The loss is theirs, not mine. Savitri Era Religion and Savitri Era Party are the only solution for the future.

I have the advantage of reading the works of The Mother & Sri Aurobindo along with some Western philosophy. Further, I have witnessed different phases of Indian politics during the last seventy years. Without such a varied orientation, thinking ability is bound to be handicapped.

I have been reading The Mother & Sri Aurobindo since the age of eight. So there was no requirement for me to read other gurus. The Mother & Sri Aurobindo are absolutely unprecedented and unique. They are the one Supreme Divine. But for academic purposes, one can make comparisons.

I can request @roshendalal to guide you in this respect since she is an authority on both the thinkers.

Sri Aurobindo was born in Kolkata but West Bengal is yet to appreciate him fully. Still it's possible that people are drawn to The Mother first so that Sri Aurobindo is recognised. This is overdue and our prayers on her birthday to do the needful! Let West Bengal lead once again.

Very few people are aware about the life of Sri Aurobindo during the years 1914 to 1920. He was writing 6 to 7 books simultaneously for publication in the Arya monthly magazine. There was no Ashram then and his pupils were a few. Historians should be interested about this period.

After shifting to Delhi in 1988, one of my first tasks was to memorise various roads radiating from the ubiquitous roundabouts from a map since taking a wrong direction means you reach elsewhere. In a similar spirit, I have been trying to show the right direction here since 2005.

Savitri Era Party doesn't believe in any imaginary, glorious past of India since different kingdoms were perpetually at war with each other. It doesn't promote Sanskrit learning in school as it is too taxing without much reward. Reading Sri Aurobindo's translations is sufficient.

People are suffering from defective ontology. The Mother & Sri Aurobindo gave a new evolutionary ontology more than a century ago. Imbibing it is the responsibility of each person. Savitri Era Religion and Savitri Era Party are trying to disseminate this new knowledge and praxis.

Anyone can search my profile and find how I kept on alerting about Modi on different occasions. I had started Savitri Era Party in 2007, the Centenary year of Sri Aurobindo's lead in the Surat split of Congress. Thus ideology is vital in politics and popularity can come in a day.

Sex is the Achilles' heel of Integral yoga

The Mother & Sri Aurobindo emphasise that the future will be different. Savitri Erans, therefore, don't put much confidence on the past. Even present arrangements like nationality or commercial blocs are suspect. Our identity as human beings is the most fundamental configuration.

Development is the new slogan and reform is the modality. For Savitri Erans, however, transformation is the mode of evolution. It doesn't depend on any single community or geographical location. New consciousness can grow anywhere in the world, in any receptive or aspiring heart.

Although, Nehruvian consensus served the basis for a broad cultural template after the British left, Charan Singh was able to articulate the concerns of the farmers with economics at the heart. His protest against Nehru then is the genesis of why Modi is the Prime Minister today.

Many here advise others to read Sri Aurobindo without reading him themselves. They don't specify which book to read or in what context. They aren't bothered about The Mother or what Auroville means. They are unaware that Sri Aurobindo wrote a long poem titled Ilion on Greek theme. 

Worshipping The Mother & Sri Aurobindo as the one Supreme Divine who are always present in their three poises is the minimum expected of their devotees. Savitri Era Religion is meant for securing this much without any variation or pretext of slipping into temptations of old ways.

There is another typo in the name of Sri Aurobindo. It is Sri and not Shri. He used to sign in the style Sri Aurobindo and that is his complete name. Any variation is erroneous. For us the devotees, name is mantra and spelling sacrosanct. It also proves that you haven't read him!

In many meetings and conferences, the speakers induce a sense of deficiency in the minds of those present by citing The Mother's instructions. Savitri Era Religion, on the contrary, encourages a joyful relationship with her, with love, devotion, and surrender. No yoga or sadhana!

For many solutions, The Mother & Sri Aurobindo proposed the role of soul, the spirit, the psychic being, the true self, or such other esoteric entities. From the point of view of a modern mind, these are inaccessible. Despite robust theoretical framework, results are not assured.

There shouldn't be hypocrisy. What The Mother & Sri Aurobindo have said is their responsibility. We needn't parrot them. Avoiding false promise is most important. Savitri Era Religion asks to worship them as the one Supreme Divine but a devotee's relationship with them is unique.

It was easy for me all these years to criticise Hindutva on the strength of Sri Aurobindo. But now Hindutva itself is undergoing severe churning due to upper castes revolt. No clarity as of now since electoral politics and RSS double-speak are involved. Still Savitri Era is safe.

Please write Sri Aurobindo, a proper noun.

That's not the right spirit, and we can't claim monopoly on Sri Aurobindo. As an author, JSD is very much entitled to provoke public opinion by referring to Sri Aurobindo in a tangential way. One is reminded of how Ken Wilber popularised Sri Aurobindo among the elite in the West.

Writings of The Mother & Sri Aurobindo leave most things open-ended. Although The Mother has been identified as the Divine Mother in three poises Sri Aurobindo's own status hasn't been clearly enunciated. Even the concept of Ashram or Yoga is not compatible with their philosophy.

The Ashram grew from ideas in Ananda Math, Bhawani Mandir, and Deva Sangha of Chandannagar etc. It was a laboratory which has no relevance after The Mother & Sri Aurobindo's demise. Secluded and regimented life has no place in their vision of the world. 2) Yoga is not verifiable.

Leftists have been churning out PhDs in Humanities without mentioning Sri Aurobindo. Hindutva intellectuals imitated the same formula for writing books. But now a situation has arrived when there can't be any thinking without Sri Aurobindo. The next step is Savitri Era version.

I have been hinting at that weird situation when many of The Mother & Sri Aurobindo's actual writings would be bypassed or overlooked. Selective quoting at present creates misleading atmosphere. But subjective interpretation will be a more dangerous zone. However, spirit matters.

Democracy is an admirable notion but with the most problematic elements. Instead of an elephant choosing as in olden days people are expected to elect. But on what basis? Can it be rational? With men one can be sure to some extent. But women? The eternal Gopis? Whoa! It's rigged.

Remembering The Mother along with Sri Aurobindo is also important as she embodies that Integral spirit. Incidentally, tomorrow happens to be her Birth anniversary which is celebrated all over the world. Peter Heehs has written a wonderful biography of her.

Winds of Modernity blew into India when The Asiatic Society was founded by Sir William Jones on January 15, 1784. Bengal Renaissance followed during which William Carey and Thomas Babington Macaulay played great roles. The Mother arrived from France to meet Sri Aurobindo in 1914.

Letters written by Sri Aurobindo to different disciples in the Ashram cannot be applied mutatis mutandis to everyone now that his and The Mother's direct spiritual force is absent. One cannot simply read books and claim to be practicing the Yoga correctly. Surrender is necessary.

Worshipping The Mother & Sri Aurobindo as the one Supreme Divine and surrender to them under Savitri Era Religion is an indispensable aspect of their philosophy and yoga. It is an act of collaboration with aspiration of earth's consciousness for seeking Supramental consciousness.

Like the eminent historians, some people made a name as intellectuals by milking Hindutva, during the last decade. But scholarship is unsustainable without wide reading, and works of Sri Aurobindo form the bedrock of Indian situation. Unfortunately, they upturn the Hindutva boat!

In our childhood, a prayer called Ahe dayamaya biswabihari was recited in school written by Ramakrushna Nanda. Similar prayers by Madhusudan Rao were also popular. Though Marathi and Brahmo, he is considered as the Father Of Modern Odia Poetry along with Radhanath Ray, a Bengali.

In order to herald his new philosophy Sri Aurobindo published the Arya magazine in 1914 with minimal resources. It's paradoxical that in the age of Social media and AI, communication about him and his ideology remains handicapped. It doesn't bother much his devotees or followers!

Thankfully, Vivekananda is nowhere in the reckoning now. Ambedkar, pitiably, has become the rope in the current tug of war, while poor, Karpatri Maharaj is pushed to rub shoulder with Savarkar! Somehow, Sri Aurobindo remains a favoured fixture in all these permutations. Et voilà!

In many instances Sri Aurobindo is referred to without any mention of The Mother. This is erroneous since they are one consciousness and represent an Integral philosophy. Sri Aurobindo's writings before their meeting in 1914 therefore should be given less weightage than of later.

My understanding of the castes is that it can't be wished away. Whether birth-based or work-based division of labour is indispensable just like separation of powers in a democracy. Varuna appears in the Veda and Zend-Avesta. Sri Aurobindo's interpretation of it resembles Brahmin.

It's really intriguing that it took half-a-century to decode this much. It may take another half-a-century for arriving at Sri Aurobindo!

With my life of seventy years on this planet, I can't claim to be aware of 7000 years of history or philosophy. Even to be informed adequately about 700 years is also a tall order. However relying on The Mother & Sri Aurobindo gives a balanced overview. Be Indian; be Aurobindian!

It's not without significance that Sri Aurobindo was present at the time of Independence which came on his 75th birthday. It should be remembered that each top leader had an appointed role and hence needless criticism of him is unwarranted. Some have temerity even to deride RRMR!

Complete silence of BJP supporters on any negative aspect of the Govt. sends shivers down the spine. This doesn't look like democracy and that too in the time of social media and AI. No criticism of the party even. Mythological model of Monarchy seems to hold sway. Hindu Rashtra!

That's an old complain aired by a few known hawks. But to his credit, Modi has functioned  all along as UPA-3, ideologically. However, there have been major issues on democracy front.

Sri Aurobindo has written thousands of letters but unfortunately the persons to whom they were written and their questions remain unpublished. This has robbed his role of humanisising and emotional elements. A great deal of sociological and historical documents are in cold store.

Savitri Era Religion is the most modern and rational religion without the tyranny of any mythology or rituals. Worshipping The Mother & Sri Aurobindo as the one Supreme Divine, and surrender to them is the task for collaborating with evolution for descent of higher consciousness.

Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Puducherry, officially came into being in 1926 and this is its Centenary year. The message that Sri Aurobindo is the greatest thinker of the country has reached everyone now. The young generation should examine how much his legacy is relevant for the future.

You are right. Their legacy is subversive of Hindutva or for that matter all religions. I am writing this since 2005. But the evolutionary trajectory they have foreseen will touch all.

The Mother & Sri Aurobindo knew that the world was not ready. They did everything and created everything for launching a new religion but gave it an interim name: Integral yoga. Savitri Era Religion simply formalises that arrangement by worshipping them as the one Supreme Divine.

You are very much correct, and I have practically said the same thing. But only their written words are not enough. How they behaved, their way of interaction with the disciples, various celebrations in the Ashram, etc. have to be taken into account for understanding in totality.

I don't consider top intellectuals properly educated as they haven't read Sri Aurobindo's books. But longtime devotees of The Mother & Sri Aurobindo espousing Hindutva ideology is tarnishing his image. Savitri Era Religion and Savitri Era Party are trying to expose such deviance.

Epical characters are worshipped in Hinduism which is considered superior to other major religions by Hindutva votaries. Colonialism and evangelism contribute to this perceived antipathy. The Mother & Sri Aurobindo are worshipped as the one Supreme Divine in Savitri Era Religion.

It's necessary to analyse why what you have recommended is not happening. That means they are neither easy nor possible since there are other compulsions. To disregard those is wishful thinking. Right diagnosis is the first step. So spelling out inherent infirmities is important.

Savitri Era Religion has been resisting mythology and rituals on the basis of the symbolic interpretation of the Veda by Sri Aurobindo. Besides, worshipping The Mother & Sri Aurobindo as the one Supreme Divine, who are always present in their three poises, is far more satisfying.

One may draw inspiration either from Karl Polanyi (1886–1964) or Michael Polanyi (1891–1976), Pierre Klossowski (1905–2001) or Leszek Kołakowski (1927–2009), Debiprasad Chattopadhyaya (1918–1993) or Debi Prasad Chattopadhyaya (1933–2022), but the ultimate source is Sri Aurobindo.

Fiction and all creative art are polyphonic or speak different voices. It's a training ground for the human mind. He is able to experience multiple things vicariously beyond his immediate environment or memory. Further, it has got healing qualities through depressing portrayals.

Your review of the movie is reductionist. You are highlighting only one aspect, a part of the plot. Further, you are connecting it to a dominant political ideology. You are fully entitled to it. My point is to look at it through the lens of art and fiction. Art deserves respect.

Many have protested against the hegemony of the Veda during the last one thousand years. Some of them are part of the Bhakti movement. Sri Aurobindo restored the original significance of the Veda that is pivotal to Savitri Era Religion. It's also crucial to understand the castes.

Dharmendra Pradhan knows Sri Aurobindo, and is instrumental in incorporating the principles of Integral Education in NEP. He is from Odisha and is highly educated. Right now, if he is defending some emancipatory aspects of policy proposals, then Savitri Era Party extends support.

Savitri Era Religion worships The Mother & Sri Aurobindo as the one Supreme Divine. It not only foils the attempt of secularising Integral yoga but also rescues Sri Aurobindo from being harnessed by Hindutva for weaponising Nationalism on his anvil. But Vedic foundation is vital.

It's heartening to notice many Hindutva stalwarts coming around to the same view about Modi that I have been harping on since 2012. This country will develop when educated people will learn to tell the right thing. However Modi being accused of secularism is certainly his credit.

Savitri Era Religion doesn't endorse Integral yoga in the absence of verifiable empirical evidences about its result. Worshipping The Mother & Sri Aurobindo as the one Supreme Divine therefore is the safest course. Establishing a direct relationship with them depends on devotees.

I can't figure out today if it's Colonialism 2.0 or a step towards the #WorldUnion as envisaged by Sri Aurobindo in his #FiveDreams Manifesto, 1947. Still something on this scale never happened before. Auroville, in this scenario can have a greater role. My prayers to The Mother!

Veda and Upanishads were written thousands of years ago. Mahabharata and Gita too are ancient texts. But their wisdom and ethics haven't percolated to human behaviour. Sri Aurobindo wrote many tomes for explaining these principles but human nature is incapable of reflecting them.

The first chapter of The Secret of the Veda is very interesting. This book is the most original contribution of Sri Aurobindo which transforms Indian thought and tradition.

I started Savitri Era Religion in 2006 when I was fifty. Sri Aurobindo and The Mother never conceived a new religion but it grew out of my own study and research. Thus it's necessary to piece together and change their varied writings for creating a coherent ontological framework.

Without subscribing to the overarching principle of unity and universality taught by The Mother & Sri Aurobindo, harmony cannot be achieved. It's not for nothing that Sri Aurobindo wrote The Life Divine. Disregarding its evolutionary rationale will cost us heavily as a nation.

Once upon a time, The Mother & Sri Aurobindo's writings were the only source for psychological modulation and a spiritual orientation. These days, one is bombarded with so much of coverage and videos on these aspects that the glut can be said to be causing Counselling pollution!

Savitri Era Party (2007) has been campaigning for abolition of reservations and all references to castes or religions from the Constitution. Following The Mother & Sri Aurobindo will ensure equality and justice among people on the basis of the intrinsic unity of all human beings.

Initially, one doesn't understand Sri Aurobindo. Then, one begins to understand him, and a sense of certainty sets in. Later, when one covers more texts, it comes to the fore that #SriAurobindo is not certain on anything. He is always tentative and leaves things to possibilities.

The basic concept of Ashram that The Mother had in mind was that if ordinary material requirements of people were arranged for then they will be free to pursue spirituality. Democracy too seeks to keep the people free from the worries of security, civic facilities, and dominance.

Sri Aurobindo privileges individual freedom which is also the cornerstone of Indian Constitution. All kinds of group-formation leads to exploitation and hence is subversive of the Constitution. Savitri Era Religion and Savitri Era Party stress on the individual's will and choice.

A basic feature of spirituality is to forget about personal circumstances. Or rather, trying to rise over personal identity and its peculiarities. Politics too needs this. Taking decisions for the nation as a whole regardless of the interests of own party or ideology is the task.

Hindutva hasn't been able to create a standard syllabus in Political science for Undergraduate students. The UGC episode exposed how their intellectuals are confused. Savitri Era Party has been disseminating the #FiveDreams Manifesto of Sri Aurobindo broadcast on August 14, 1947.

People have forgotten about Govindacharya who replicated the V.P. Singh formula in BJP and it won elections in many States. So, if another Mondal is guiding the party now, there is nothing to be surprised. Democracy is precariously perched on demography and temple has lost shine!

The Mother & Sri Aurobindo's writings and conversations extend from 1893 to 1973 involving over seventy volumes. Besides there are reminiscences of the devotees. Acquiring a grasp on this vast literature isn't easy for anyone. Consequently interpreting their project turns flawed.

Devotees connected with various Centres become addicted to an annual calendar of special events and celebrations. But each individual has his own unique way of approaching The Mother & Sri Aurobindo and hence Savitri Era Religion emphasises freedom from routine and fixed rituals.
