Most of pujo is over. J pujo in Chandannagar is imminent. For me listening varieties of music over DJ is the most attractive part. Although different kinds of North Indian songs are played, Odia is perhaps treated as South Indian and hence no entry. Let's hope Mahua factor helps!
While doing work or taking food, concerns over body or age-related issues come to the fore. Even while listening to music also that wistful feeling for the past precipitates. But during the time my mind is engaged in reading or writing, it's a seamless, neutral, ever-young space!
While democracy is a noble idea, getting votes from millions of strangers isn't an easy task. Further, outwitting the rivals is key. Thus the job of advertising or manipulating minds becomes central. In this sense, complaining about deception or misrepresentation is out of place.
I have been reading their writings from a young age and, as far as my impression goes, The Mother & Sri Aurobindo talk more about prsonal defects and deficiencies of disciples than the biological and genetic machinery propelling them. This downplaying of Nature is a bit curious!
Agree. The dynamics of their yoga puts emphasis on willed psychological remolding. But while at many places, they blame the emotions, they also rely on the same emotions for psychic opening. This seems paradoxical! Larry Seidlitz has a good paper on this.
The idea is to build a direct relationship with The Mother & Sri Aurobindo without the gate-keeping or hegemony of, or dependence on, any institution or individual. Savitri Era Religion also doesn't have any ritual or mythology. It doesn't prescribe any fixed system of practice.
After taking voluntary retirement from my job of a Scale I officer in the Head Office in Delhi of Punjab National Bank in 2000, instead of earning money I have been working for harmony. At 70 I have the satisfaction of providing an alternative ideology in the form of Savitri Era.
Whether noticed or not vigorous ideological churning is going on in the country. Although driven by politics and capturing power, appealing to the young generation and keeping pace with technological stride has become a challenge. Savitri Era Party holds Sri Aurobindo as supreme.
BJP and RSS are in power for more than eleven years but haven't been able to spell out their ideology or strategy clearly till now. It's fair to say that both the organisations are evolving and trying to win in the survival game but, their core impulsion being hatred, rot inside.
Although we worship The Mother & Sri Aurobindo as the one Supreme Divine, there should be no hesitation in critically examining what they have left behind in black and white. Savitri Era Religion & Savitri Era Party are more attuned to their love, grace, and compassion than words.
When The Mother met Sri Aurobindo for the first time on March 29, 1914, in Puducherry, their divinity got established. Savitri Era Religion ensues from that, and everything prior or later are secondary. Thus, the story of gradual realisations should be taken with a pinch of salt.

Expressing our love, loyalty, and gratitude towards The Mother & Sri Aurobindo is our only weapon. The future is in their hands, as evolution is a slave of them. The hold of the old religions is slackening. Even, atheist philosophies are undergoing stir. #FiveDreams will triumph!
Current political situation doesn't encourage people to appreciate The Mother & Sri Aurobindo's contributions. Yet, many are gradually discovering who is the greatest poet and philosopher. But that recognition only is not enough. Worshipping them as the one Supreme Divine is key.

Savitri Era Religion contends that the writings of The Mother & Sri Aurobindo are their property and are under Ashram's copyright. They are sacred and possess mantric power. The biblical proverb “Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs" is relevant here.
My recent followers are Tara, Elsa, Ophelia, Barbara, Patricia, Maureen, Lillian, Mallie, Linda, Darlene, et al. It indicates that a great spiritual resurgence is blowing among American women!
Sri Aurobindo points out that the solution to all our problems is in discovering harmony, but the path to that is not clear. So, Savitri Era Party doesn't follow any fixed economic or social ideology. Worshipping The Mother & Sri Aurobindo amounts to collaboration with evolution.
India's Rebirth: A selection from Sri Aurobindo's writings, talks and speeches, published in 1993, outside Ashram, has done maximum damage to the reputation of Sri Aurobindo. This is an example how stray quotations, without proper context, can be misleading and create prejudice.
Grokipedia page on Sri Aurobindo has two concluding sections, viz., Disputes Over Biographies and Interpretations and Posthumous Issues in Ashram and Auroville Governance. Only hints are provided there about which people of India, in general, are ignorant.

The principles of yoga and spirituality, as enunciated by The Mother & Sri Aurobindo, may look quite firm but its texture changes in accordance with the personal situation of the devotee. Cultural and intellectual background imposes its own conditions instead of submitting fully.
Savitri Era Religion fosters an environment of freedom for the devotees of The Mother & Sri Aurobindo without any institutional pressure or obligation. Absence of any kind of mythology or rituals is the biggest advantage. No system of initiation nor any requirement of some priest.
Religion operates at several levels as its hold on personal, familial, social, political, economic, aesthetic, and intellectual domains is pervasive. Its appeal overrides other considerations totally irrationally. Savitri Era Religion seeks to establish rational approach in this.

The Mother was in France and Sri Aurobindo in England but there was no contact. That sacred moment came when The Mother arrived in Puducherry and both met for the first time on March 29, 1914. A new story for the mankind began: Savitri Era Religion. A new hope and a new adventure!
In the last century, Hinduism was never thought as a panacea for all human ills or the greatest of all religions although RSS existed since 1925. But the Ram temple movement created a lot of hubris coinciding with Hindutva reimagining India as a possible superpower or Vishwaguru.
Since I came in contact with the ideals of The Mother & Sri Aurobindo in 1964, Hinduism has been repulsive to me. Senseless rituals and endless juvenile mythology are cause of perpetual irritation for me. But the aesthetic aspect keeps people bonded. Devotion is therapeutic, too.
This century has given rise to Hindutva intellectuals or RW. But I fail to understand the thrust of their arguments. There is no definite point where their history starts. There is no agreement on which texts are defining. Consensus is lacking on who actually is a Hindu. So on and so forth.
Take one simple example: Dharmic is good and Abrahamic is bad. I don't know who devised this simplistic formula, but the whole edifice of Hindutva scholarship stands on this premise. No matter, majority of the world's population are living under the latter umbrella for millennia!
However, Human Rights entitles all to be proud of own nation or religion. No quarrel with that. But modernity and education also enjoins to look at things rationally. Whataboutery that since Leftists have distorted history we have as much right do the same, isn't taking anywhere.
In the matter religion also nothing can be ascertained in an esoteric realm. So using it for mundane activities can only lead to mushrooming of idols and statues. Statutory matters have to be governed on, purely, secular basis. Thus pushing religion beyond its confines is futile.
I launched Savitri Era Religion in 2006 for a clean break with Hinduism. Even without belonging to it, intellectuals in India can learn a lot by reading Sri Aurobindo's books. Everyone knows it but there's no shortcut. Visiting a nearby Sri Aurobindo Centre can teach many things.

Savitri Era Religion doesn't hold any text, ancient or modern, as fundamental. Even the writings of The Mother & Sri Aurobindo form a Parliament of philosophies. Yoga is basically the journey of discovering that we are not disconnected at the first place. So the task is to begin.

It was The Mother who came from France to meet Sri Aurobindo in 1914 and took steps for establishment of Ashram in 1926. Her struggle for sustaining herself might look as difficult but Savitri Era Religion takes it as Lila. Also the present state of fragmentation among followers.
When I thought that I have secured a fairly good grip on various branches of Hindutva, a new stream of American Hindus has cropped up. Further, the recent comment by their VP has turbocharged latent sentiment on many fronts. It's not for nothing that Emerson thought high of RRMR!
What was triggered by Raja Ram Mohan Roy will surely reach its logical conclusion. In between, we see Helena Petrovna Blavatsky (1831–91), Annie Besant (1847–1933), Margaret Elizabeth Noble (1867–1911), Madeleine Slade (1892–1982) apart from Mirra Alfassa (1878–1973), The Mother.
Although, The Mother & Sri Aurobindo refrained from starting any new religion and stressed on spirituality, I have provided a modern and rational alternative by launching Savitri Era Religion in 2006, since the dominant religions are in perpetual conflict.

There have been critics of RSS, within the Hindu fold, in the past, but Rao has taken it to the most vociferous level. And at a moment when they are at the peak of enjoying power. While his honesty of purpose can't be faulted, the mythology-driven Hindu cause is flawed ab initio.

While Sri Aurobindo is often discussed here vis-à-vis the Veda, he is conspicuous by his absence at the Grokipedia page on Vedas.

Apart from The Secret of the Veda, Hymns to the Mystic Fire and Vedic and Philological Studies are part of The Complete Works of Sri Aurobindo (CWSA). Besides, works of TV Kapali Sastri, V Madhusudan Reddy, MP Pandit, SP Singh, RL Kashyap, et al are there.

In S.P. Mittal vs. Union of India, 1983 (Auroville case), Court ruled that the teachings of Sri Aurobindo were a philosophy, not a religion. However, in his dissenting judgement, Justice O. Chinnappa Reddy opined that his devotees can start a new religion.
