Don't take any mythology, history, or philosophy to be true. Sri Aurobindo's writings provide good intellectual orientation but reading just one or two books or speeches can misguide. Also, keep away from the Blue Jackals of Hindutva brigade eager for appropriating #SriAurobindo.
The Mother & Sri Aurobindo have avoided promoting mythology, astrology, ayurveda, chanting, rituals, or any form of faith-healing. Devotees should take care not to be involved in such activities nor let their premises be used on commercial considerations. Quackery has no place.
The divinity and the philosophy of The Mother & Sri Aurobindo is the only reliable one in the present condition. There is no compromise on this aspect and we are demanding recognition of our new religion on bona fide claims. Auroville should be returned to the devotees forthwith.
Nothing more paradoxical than those espousing mythology and rituals sitting in judgement over whether Sri Aurobindo interpreted the Veda correctly or whether he and The Mother should be worshipped as the Supreme Divine. Matters of faith can't be measured through an analytical way.
Presently, Auroville is vertically split into two factions but both are obfuscating the issues as road vs. the trees. Matrimandir, standing at the centre of Auroville, is the most important sacred place for the devotees of The Mother & Sri Aurobindo and govt should vacate it.
People are suffering from false philosophies of life, said Sri Aurobindo, in The Life Divine. In his The Human Cycle, he predicted the evolution of a harmonious human society. For this to take shape, overhauling the education system is necessary. Firm political will needed for it.
It's natural that the Western world will continue its political dominance over India. But that shouldn't be the reason for rejecting the intellectual and aesthetic contribution of the West. Although the hegemony of Marxist thought has robbed it of much flexibility and suppleness.
Why would anybody read Sri Aurobindo if adorning the dias in LitFests, Webinars, and College functions is possible without it. Authoring multiple books without any reference to Sri Aurobindo is quite common. So, the definition of intellectuality in India needs a drastic revision.
Not many people know about Motilal Roy মতিলাল রায় who gave shelter to Sri Aurobindo at Chandannagar. The idea of deva-sangha or divine-life germinated here. Today #Chandannagar is famous for the lighting decoration during Jagaddhatri Puja. Let's hope it shows light to the world.
Adam Smith was born three hundred years ago in 1723. His invisible hand doesn't refer to god or any supernatural force. His sympathy and self-interest however do have religious connotations but if compared to Sri Aurobindo's fraternity, the chasm between their approaches is wide.
Others including Bengalis can be forgiven but why the educated Tamils don't read Sri Aurobindo or become curious when so much goes on in Puducherry and Auroville is surprising. One well-known reason is Sri Aurobindo disagreeing with Shankara but not all are devoted to the latter.
I support you insofar as you brought certain texts to the attention of the public but nothing substantive can be deduced from such isolated content in the same way as nothing very definite can be known about your own personality and thinking from the few tweets on Renaissance man.
More and more people are discovering the preeminent position that Sri Aurobindo occupies in the intellectual landscape of the last century. What he foresees is evolutionary in nature and can't be predicted, precisely. We can aspire and leave it in the hands of The Mother's grace.

As a clerk in Punjab National Bank my salary was Rs.495 in 1977. My first salary, however, as a High School teacher in 1976, was Rs.436.
Watching videos is gaining popularity rather than reading books or articles. Top scholars on The Mother & Sri Aurobindo flourishing an interdisciplinary approach are Ananda Reddy, Debashish Banerji, Dr. Ramesh Bijlani, Dr. Soumitra Basu and Dr. Alok Pandey.
Social and economic problems are intractable and the legal approach is inadequate. Hence the real ontological reasons need to be investigated instead of healing in a piecemeal manner. Western philosophy beats about the bush whereas Sri Aurobindo grapples with the matter frontally.
It's difficult to claim Sri Aurobindo formulating any foolproof philosophy but his books surely expose the falsehood of other religions and philosophies. There are plenty of people who "respect" #SriAurobindo but don't read him sufficiently to understand his seminal contributions.
Sri Aurobindo fought against the British but supported them against Hitler. He was also deeply appreciative of Western culture and literature. Today, the West is far ahead of India in technology and infrastructure. So, a more collaborative approach is necessary than colonialism.
Festivals create the illusion of the cyclical nature of time but life is linear. Realising that it unfolds some hidden purpose on a continuous basis is important. All collective affairs like politics or economics are geared towards that. Religious divide obfuscates the inner plan.
