Difficult to be confident

During our school years, the Cold War was a dominant topic and many aspects of political and literary life were affected by it. Similarly, lambasting Tata-Birla was a common feature. Now, of course, Adani-Ambani have replaced them. Cold War too is continuing in many different forms. Often, in the open.

As a member of Bank employees' and officers' Association, Leftist thinking was ingrained in me. But K. Ram Mohan, a colleague, once convinced me that Multinationals have no nationality. So, I converted to the Reforms bandwagon. But after three decades, I'm not very sure. Further, several new factors have become prominent during this period.

Rise of Hindutva has transformed the Indian situation. Apart from being the dominant political force, its intellectual pull is also increasing. Unfortunately, the more it grows, the more is the chance of its floundering since it is based on falsehood and presumptions. But a lot of people are reaping rich dividends as well as social validation.

Rise of Media is also unprecedented including its propensity to be in the lap of the Govt. This can be explained in terms of pure economics instead of any ideology or commitment to ethics. But, in the process, democracy has become permanently crippled. Thomaskutty has highlighted how it has been instrumental in installing Hindutva as a hegemon.

Rise of Digital environment is the hallmark of the current century. Arrival of AI is a further destabilising phenomenon. It has affected every facet of human affairs. Thus, traditional modalities of analysis have gone haywire. Human intelligence and wisdom is no longer considered sufficient unless vetted by the machine.

The Mother & Sri Aurobindo, in this context, seem to be relevant in many ways, but it is difficult to be confident. Their teachings don't pass the test of Modernity or rationality on many counts. Nevertheless, that's the only formulation which takes care of diverse demands of social, political, or psychological nature.

Against Hindutva

Born in July 2005, this Blog has seen many different times. Although, the facility of instant publishing became possible, I was not able to write even two-three sentences, initially. The fear of writing something wrong or misrepresenting The Mother & Sri Aurobindo was always there. However, gradually, I gained confidence and giving a distinct line of thinking precipitated.

Matter relating to The Mother & Sri Aurobindo was quite limited and scattered at that time. I tried to aggregate and consolidate diverse online resources including critical references. Since publicity was treated negatively, I aggressively moved in the opposite direction. Over a period of time, that became normalised.

Talking about politics or religion was a great no no. I broke that barrier with vengeance. However, it is yet to be accepted as the in thing. Further, I carved a clear ideological line against Hindutva. This was a green-field project since neither The Mother & Sri Aurobindo nor the Direct disciples had any occasion to grapple with the issue.

Digital environment provided the opportunity to follow The Mother & Sri Aurobindo independently, without the involvement of different institutions. Critical opinions too found their way to be vented. I was at the forefront in providing such openness and fairness. As a result, a lot of unjust bias got exposed.

I cautioned against false or exaggerated promises on yoga and spirituality, quite prominently. This had a sobering effect on all those who were trying to commercially exploit this aspect. Further, my request not to mix The Mother & Sri Aurobindo's system with that of the others influenced many. However, inclusion of their writings in college curriculum is yet to materialise.

Prism of isms

During my school years, I used to be intrigued by the suffix Bada or Vada. While reading newspapers or magazines, different forms of Vada or ism would turn stumbling blocks. Understanding them took years and even continues to this day, in many ways. Then, each field has its own set of isms. Thus, perceiving the world through the prism of different isms proves to be a perpetual intellectual struggle.

Those days, Marxism was the reigning ideological climate in Odisha, and many top public figures were influenced by it. J.N. Mohanty writes in his autobiography how he was struggling to choose between Gandhi and Marx, since his two famous maternal uncles were following one of the two. He also notes another contradiction he was trying to solve. Whether Sri Aurobindo is correct or Shankara, in interpreting the reality.

Sisir Kumar Maitra has reminisced that, had he read the Arya magazine when it was being published, it would have saved him from enormous intellectual struggle with Hegel and others that he underwent through next twenty years. D.P. Chattopadhyaya has expressed regret that his portrayal of Hegel is to some extent faulty in his Sri Aurobindo and Karl Marx book.

It is pertinent to recall how Kojève's lectures on Hegel had misguided many. Koyré had to go elsewhere and Kojève filled his place. This turn of events turned history to some extent. Georg Lukács has expressed regrets on this score. In a different context, Nietzsche didn't acknowledge of reading Stirner, although it is widely believed that he borrowed his ideas.

Today, Dilip Mandal has written an article on how Modi's twelve-years' rule broadly conforms to some tenets of the Conservatism of Burke. In another context, I read about Buckle, the historian. The world of ideas and isms are ever expanding. Thankfully, AI has arrived to answer any question, in a second. Apropos of Hegel, Rimina Mohapatra has two co-authored volumes on him, to her credit.

Savitri Era: Sri Aurobindo would be the enduring glue https://savitriera.blogspot.com/2026/06/sri-aurobindo-would-be-enduring-glue.html

Savitri Era of those who adore,

Om Sri Aurobindo & The Mother.

#FiveDreamsManifesto

#TusarNathMohapatra

One of the most neglected areas of Sri Aurobindo's work is his whole body of translations which forms Volume 5 of The Complete Works of Sri Aurobindo (CWSA) incarnateword.in/cwsa/05. From Kalidasa, Bhartrihari, and Bidyapati to Andal, Nammalwar, and Tiruvalluvar, he covers widely.

As we live midst enormous injustice and exploitation, let's pray to The Mother & Sri Aurobindo for ending suffering and deprivation. Savitri Era Party hopes to introduce innovating changes for transformation of our polity and economic life. Imperial legacy needs to be abandoned.

Romanticising protests is quite alluring but it never happens spontaneously. Mobilising people to come to the streets is good optics and good strategy. Savitri Era Party however is against such emotional exploitation of people. It's also against elephant-trading for more numbers.

Savitri Era Religion has an altogether different ontology. Being a part of it means holding a new narrative and worldview as per The Mother & Sri Aurobindo's thought. Worshipping them as the one Supreme Divine is essential for receiving their infinite love, grace, and compassion.

M.P. Pandit once remarked that spirituality has no holiday. In the same vein, it can be said that knowledge has no retirement. The Mother & Sri Aurobindo emphasised education as a lifelong process and The Life Divine integrates the Veda, the Upanishads, and the Kashmiri Shaivism.

Praying to The Mother & Sri Aurobindo and seeking their presence and grace in all circumstances should be a spontaneous affair. No mythology or ritual, no custom or initiation, Savitri Era Religion is the most modern and rational religion sans any connection with other religions.

On several occasions, The Mother & Sri Aurobindo affirmed of not starting any new religion but it's amusing, why did the question arise at all? Because their teachings had all the elements of a new religion and hence doubts and speculations over it were floating around all along.

More than 500 princely states were there when the British left India in 1947. Thus, imagining India as one civilisation or culture is far fetched. Granting Sovereignty to the States under a loose Federation is the best option. Otherwise there would be a lot of avoidable friction.

The biggest contribution of The Mother & Sri Aurobindo is to show the connection between evolution and religion. Worshipping them as the one Supreme Divine is essential as they are leading the evolutionary march. Savitri Era Religion offers a platform for voluntary participation.

Aspiration, Rejection, and Surrender are considered as the three principal principles of Integral yoga. Savitri Era Religion, however, puts worshipping The Mother & Sri Aurobindo as the one Supreme Divine, as primary. So, no burden of any practice or psychological manipulation.

My posts on the modalities of Savitri Era Religion are mostly original. Hence their reference shouldn't be searched in the writings of The Mother & Sri Aurobindo nor that of the Direct disciples. From the puritan perspective, talking about religion and politics are deviant steps.

Savitri Era Party (2007) provides the most basic opportunities for navigating through the current affairs. As individuals are, more and more, feeling powerless, holding an attitude of firmness anchored to The Mother & Sri Aurobindo is important for ushering in ethics in politics.

Top minds in the country are concerned about how to save the Opposition parties which are falling like house of cards. I have been predicting this since a long time, and hence have kept Savitri Era Party (2007) floating with single mindedness. I don't expect anyone to understand.

Since location has returned, posting a photograph would be appropriate although I am on the other side of the river.

It shouldn't be difficult to understand that Bankim applied Comte to create his own brand of secular religion. Others followed him.

Philosophy reached great heights and depths during the last century but The Mother & Sri Aurobindo provided the most potent solution for all kinds of social and political aspiration. Worshipping them as the one Supreme Divine under Savitri Era Religion is the necessary condition.

I used to use a text-only format which seems to be no longer possible. Being bombarded by a continuous stream of visuals is not only needless distraction but also causes irritation. Obviously, it will force spending less time and dampen thinking seriously for crafting a "tweet."

Sri Aurobindo would be the enduring glue

Collated X posts, in original, by Tusar Nath Mohapatra (From June 7, 2026 to June 14, 2026)

Education and culture is an ongoing process. A part of the evolution of one's being and efflorescence of intrinsic skills and capabilities. Aesthetic enjoyment, itself, is a special branch of educational process. The Mother & Sri Aurobindo encourage to raise beauty to sublimity.

Sample size is too meagre. Top twenty can reveal a better picture. How about other Constitutional positions than the ministers?

Savitri Era Religion worships The Mother & Sri Aurobindo as the one Supreme Divine without any connection with other religions or philosophies. It is free from mythology, rituals, and myriad sedimented constructs of the past. Further, rescuing them from biography is preferred to.

There is nothing wrong in being proud of what one does or believes in but there is a concept called touchstone without which it is difficult to certify even gold. In the realm of conflicting perceptions, philosophy happens to be a mine of touchstones. Selecting one needs passion.

Savitri Era Party believes that befooling people by roping them into mass rallies or protest movements is deception. Parliamentary democracy entails reasoned arguments without appealing to emotions or resorting to optics. Informed citizens, and not dumbing down, should be the priority

Digital environment has created an impression that only Engineers and MBAs are capable of understanding things, and hence, only their opinions matter. This may not be correct. Expertise in other fields also have their validity and utility. Humanities needn't be dismissed lightly.

Casting aspersions on the Supreme Court needs to be avoided as a matter of principle. One may or may not agree with specific judgments but blanket accusation against such a complex institution is tantamount to undermining democracy. Empathising with their ordeal is also important.

That shows ideological bankruptcy. Ultimately, Sri Aurobindo would be the enduring glue.

Nearly a decade after completing The Life Divine, Sri Aurobindo wrote The Mother book which modified his philosophical system drastically, as the concept of grace became paramount. Worshipping them as the one Supreme Divine who are always present in their three poises is crucial.

The four powers of The Mother was explained by Sri Aurobindo in the Faith and Shakti chapter of The Synthesis of Yoga in 1920 itself after final arrival of The Mother. However it assumed special significance after the establishment of the Ashram in 1926. Surrender became pivotal.

Savitri Era Religion doesn't impose any lifestyle restriction. It doesn't prescribe any ritual or system of practice. No initiation. Worshipping The Mother & Sri Aurobindo as the one Supreme Divine, and trying to live under their influence and consciousness is the only condition.

Being conversant with The Mother & Sri Aurobindo's teachings for over sixty years and having seen many controversies erupting form time to time, I'm trying to provide the most accessible way of approaching them through Savitri Era Religion (2006). Avoiding mysticism is important.

The Mother & Sri Aurobindo are the one Supreme Divine who are always present in their three poises: individual, universal, and transcendent. They lead the evolutionary march towards Supramental descent and Vedic Immortality. Savitri Era Religion (2006) encourages to worship them.

How the Bengal Renaissance creatively responded to the secular turn of Feuerbach and Comte to reshape Hinduism is an interesting story. Sri Aurobindo, however, reconciles the whole tension, but, ultimately, creates the ground for emergence of a new religion by forging The Mother.

Present political turmoil in West Bengal is not unrelated to Bengal Renaissance. Deep ideological questions are at play with Marxism as an additional factor. Savitri Era Party (2007) hopes to emerge as the ultimate choice as more and more people read and recognise Sri Aurobindo.

The dialectic of involution and evolution is clear in Sri Aurobindo's philosophy, unfolding every moment. The result is inevitable, but human collaboration through surrender to The Mother can accelerate it. Seems like conjecture—but why not Pascal's wager? #FiveDreamsManifesto

There is no greater paradox than citizens demanding law take its own course. If that is the case, then prejudging the whole affair and awarding a verdict in advance was unwarranted.

https://x.com/i/status/2065134780673646908

Human civilisation has amassed an enormous magnitude of wisdom but the present situation fails to reflect it adequately. The chasm between theory and practice is immense. The Mother & Sri Aurobindo bridge that gulf. Their philosophy of evolution is simultaneously ethics or action.

After starting Savitri Era Learning Forum in 2005, I launched Savitri Era Religion in 2006 and Savitri Era Party in 2007 by taking advantage of the digital environment. The grace of The Mother & Sri Aurobindo was responsible for this breakthrough which I consider as evolutionary.

As I move around West Bengal, more and more I feel convinced that this State will show the right path to India in the same way as had happened 200 years back. The urge for knowing Sri Aurobindo is building up as other icon have proved to be ineffective. Hindutva will be trounced.

Reading the books of The Mother & Sri Aurobindo regularly awakens to their vast significance in a gradual manner. One stops comparing them with others; rather no space remains for others in the mind. In every sphere of knowledge, on each aspect of life, they have something to say

Savitri Era Party (2007) was formed marking the Centenary year of Congress split in Surat, in which Sri Aurobindo had a prominent role. He thought about the future of mankind throughout his life, and has written on it in various forms. Let's all unite to make his vision possible.

The whole country was shocked over the unexpected collapse of TMC. I have been predicting this scenario for the last two decades. No party can survive for long without a strong ideological anchoring. Most past icons have lost their sheen. Only The Mother & Sri Aurobindo are left.

Going beyond dominant narratives is the need of the hour; getting over the impression that politics entails movements, too. Hangover of both Gandhian and Marxist legacies. Sri Aurobindo emphasises Fraternity, the third principle in his #FiveDreamsManifesto x.com/i/status/20658…

Many competent scholars used to expose how Ken Wilber was misrepresenting Sri Aurobindo by appropriating the Integral label. Then, I launched Savitri Era Learning Forum (SELF) in 2005 for popularising diverse resources on The Mother & Sri Aurobindo online. selforum.blogspot.com

Rulers exploit subjects and distort history but ranting leaves a bad taste. Facts need to be presented dispassionately since there are several other dimensions than victimhood.

Thanks for taking interest in probing the state of my mind. Let me confide that as Director of Savitri Era Learning Forum (SELF since 2005), my views are purely subjective, original, and pedagogical. You can check the latest at savitriera.blogspot.com

They never claimed success nor relinquished hope

Collated X posts, in original, by Tusar Nath Mohapatra (From June 1, 2026 to June 6, 2026)

Quitting my job of a Bank officer in 2000, I launched Savitri Era Learning Forum in 2005 for spreading the message of The Mother & Sri Aurobindo. At 70, I look back with satisfaction how people are unable to appreciate their greatness, significance, or relevance. So, a lot to do!

Media regularly reports success stories but assuming that the same can be replicated by others is an illusion. The ontological ubiquitousness of a unique individual can't be overshadowed by patterns or preexisting templates. A surprise element therefore always lurks in the wings.

Sri Aurobindo had a lifelong engagement with poetry and literature. From Homer to Dante and Milton to Whitman, it was a vast sweep consummating with Valmiki, Vyasa, and Kalidasa. The light and delight of all these streams were distilled for writing Savitri as an ode to The Mother.

Comte’s Religion of Humanity influenced Bankim who fused it with Keshub Chandra Sen's Bhakti and Naba Bidhan to craft Anushilan. Sri Aurobindo's Integral yoga flows from it and also his chapter on Religion of Humanity. Tagore further modifies this in his Religion of Man lectures.

Savitri Era Religion requires worshipping The Mother & Sri Aurobindo as the one Supreme Divine and seeking their love, compassion, and grace. This is absolutely voluntary and free from the tyranny of any mythology, rituals, or fixed practice. Reading their books is also optional.

The philosophy of The Mother & Sri Aurobindo validates itself on an elegant logic of evolutionary inevitability. It's like the simple fact that if I catch Shantipur Local I will reach Shantipur within an hour and a half. Jonathan Livingston Seagull paints this tension beautifully.

New parties are being launched, but Savitri Era Party (2007) is confident of introducing new politics in the country on the basis of The Mother & Sri Aurobindo's evolutionary philosophy. Establishing an egalitarian atmosphere by abolishing all kinds of reservations is one target.

This User name business inaugurated a new era of deception. Fake profiles and bios became the order of the day. Enticing DPs turned a success formula. Of course, make-ups enable to put up a false appearance, which is accepted as culture. In that sense, this legitimacy is age-old!

Sri Aurobindo started publishing his writings in 1893. Thereafter, he wrote in different phases from which several authoritative books appeared. The Complete Works of Sri Aurobindo consists of 36 volumes: incarnateword.in/cwsa. Besides, Collected Works of the Mother are there.

The genesis of Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Puducherry, a hundred years back ploughed through many complex and ambiguous circumstances. Identifying her as the Divine Mother was not a very welcoming situation nor was putting her in charge of all day-to-day affairs and spiritual guidance.

Savitri Era Religion recommends worshipping The Mother & Sri Aurobindo as the one Supreme Divine instead of bothering about the modalities of Integral yoga. Reading books is also not mandatory. It's the most modern and rational religion without the tyranny of mythology or rituals.

Commenting on international affairs and geopolitical speculation is an addition. Signalling that you are among the handful of top intelligent persons on the planet is absolutely gratifying. It's assured that no one is going to follow your recommendations nor check their efficacy.

It's heartening to observe that multi-party democracy is having a free-play in our country. Media too is diverse, multi-layered, and financially viable. But lack of any ideological-glue privileges charisma and oratory. Savitri Era Party is dedicated to Sri Aurobindo & The Mother.

The Mother & Sri Aurobindo started the Ashram as a laboratory for eradicating human imperfection by transformation of nature through application of higher consciousness. They never claimed success nor relinquished hope. Savitri Era Religion worships them as the one Supreme Divine.

New knowledge yoked with a robust ethical paradigm

Collated X posts, in original, by Tusar Nath Mohapatra (From May 26, 2026 to May 31, 2026)

Consulting Sri Aurobindo might throw some light.

https://x.com/i/status/2059139333211521126

The Mother & Sri Aurobindo's writings are the most authentic and relevant on many scores. They are not very popular because general education system has been keeping them aside. Further, most intellectuals are unaware of their worth. So self-study is best. incarnateword.in/cwsa

Gadkari was the president and once Amit Shah was sitting on a bench outside his room to meet him, in front of me.

AI has discovered that our thoughts and emotions are not private. They come from outside which ratifies Sri Aurobindo's view. So the primary template can be computed from which our ongoing recipes take shape. Accordingly robots are going to give us company in many facets of life.

Savitri Era Religion entails worshipping The Mother & Sri Aurobindo as the one Supreme Divine, so that one can make sense of the world with precision, from that fixed point. Any external affinity is liable to destabilise that equilibrium and introduce purblindness. Caveat emptor!

Savitri Era Party (2007) believes that, following The Mother & Sri Aurobindo is the only solution for many of our problems. A firm ontological understanding of our surroundings is a basic requirement. Further, a corresponding ethical compass is an indispensable tool. #FiveDreams

Politics doesn't mean publicity, although it can sustain for a while. Most parties are experiencing a decline due to lack of any definite ideology. The Life Divine constitutes the highest political ideal for humanity. Following The Mother & Sri Aurobindo amounts to collaboration.

Savitri Era Religion is free from mythology and rituals because Sri Aurobindo has denoted Vedic deities as psychological principles in his epochal, The Secret of the Veda. It also dovetails perfectly with his thesis of adventure of consciousness, as delineated in The Life Divine.

Janata Party hasn't lost charm, but witnessing the years leading to its formation was a great experience. Had attended the founding conference of BLD (People’s Party of India) at Bhubaneswar which later merged into Janata Party. Its symbol was adapted fom that of the Pragati Dal.

All kinds of music is popular in West Bengal except Odia. It's unfortunate that people are unaware of the great classics of Sandhya Mukherjee, Nirmala Mishra, Sipra Basu, and Aarati Mukherjee, et al. though the language is not very difficult to understand.

It will be too early to bracket the present incumbent with the other two. I think, he is different and hints at basic incongruities.

Insights from The Mother & Sri Aurobindo can enhance the relevance of these observations in a great way.

Using Sri Aurobindo for justifying Hindutva smacks of ignorance. Selectively quoting from his Uttarpara speech turns the entire project of his life into its opposite. Savitri Era Party (2007) stands for human unity and harmony based on his #FiveDreamsManifesto of August 14, 1947.

As Director of Savitri Era Learning Forum (SELF), I have been harping on not to mortgage your intelligence to the deceptive propaganda of various political parties, since 2005. Instead of following logic and sanity, young people are ready to follow the anarchic model of insects!

Modi-devotees continue to misrepresent The Mother & Sri Aurobindo on this platform, misguiding people in general. Savitri Era Religion (2006) and Savitri Era Party (2007) are doing their best to fight this menace. Ultimately, the writings of The Mother & Sri Aurobindo will win.

Sri Aurobindo has to be understood and appreciated through the process of elimination. Not Gandhi nor Nehru. Not Vivekananda nor Tagore. Not Subhas nor M.N. Roy. Not Radhakrishnan nor Periyar. Not Ambedkar nor Savarkar. Not Lohia nor Deendayal. Not Ram Swarup, nor Sita Ram Goel.

Best thing of this platform is character limit. Half my time goes in squeezing thoughts. Metro stations are being renamed, but there should be a character limit. Otherwise, they become jokes. #YouTube is imposing multiple ads for 10-15 minutes for listening to a 2-3 minutes song.

Socio-political issues are multiplying but the Parliament is totally aloof. Judiciary is grappling with many issues but it has limits. Media chases TRP and experts are rarely consulted. If democracy can't handle finding solutions to problems through discussion, then it's in vain.

The Mother & Sri Aurobindo represent new light and knowledge, new vision and consciousness, new compassion and grace. Worshipping them as the one Supreme Divine can transform our lives, and spread harmony in the society. Let's collaborate with the evolutionary march of the earth.

The Mother & Sri Aurobindo give us new knowledge yoked with a robust ethical paradigm. It's a great synthesis with roots in diverse streams. But the crucial feature is The Mother's grace, which is activated by worshipping them as the one Supreme Divine under Savitri Era Religion.

Sri Aurobindo has some social commentary type writings which he did at various points of time. They are stray comments and have own contexts, but shouldn't be taken seriously. Reading The Life Divine and The Secret of the Veda is essential. All else should be seen in their light.

Savitri Era Religion discards mythology and rituals. It doesn't recommend any fixed system of yoga. Worshipping The Mother & Sri Aurobindo as the one Supreme Divine, without any connection with other religions or philosophies, is essential. Aspiration for their grace is the task.

The Mother & Sri Aurobindo never promised any miracle. Their philosophy and psychology are thoroughly theoretical without the promise of any assured result. Their work is subject to evolutionary exigencies and machinations of ignorance. Our job is to believe in them with loyalty.

Savitri Era Party (2007) is against AAP, BJP, CJP, and Congress. It believes that the evolutionary philosophy of The Mother & Sri Aurobindo will unfold, inevitably. Therefore, it is not much concerned about ground level visibility. Ensuring ideological accuracy is more important.

The Mother & Sri Aurobindo have been taking baby-steps for building a community of people interested in spirituality and yoga, hundred years back. The Arya writings are there but a way has to be found for translating the philosophy into reality. 15.8.1926: incarnateword.in/compilations/s

Sri Aurobindo launched a massive narrative war in 1914 by publishing The Secret of the Veda in a monthly magazine. But neither LW nor RW feel the call to understand the epochal significance of his symbolic interpretations with implications for history, literature, and archeology.
