False subjectivism on the one hand and the logic of the infinite on the other make Sri Aurobindo's cosmology esoteric. Add to this the exclusive concentration and it's a heady concoction. No wonder newspapers steer clear of such inanities. Marxist scholars view it as mumbo jumbo.

A more equal scenario is rather the solution. Some in the audience actually want to make their presence felt and there should be some slot to allow them to vent their concern. Maybe this happens before the session so that the speakers can weave their response into their speeches.
It's interesting that Sri Aurobindo had to write on the body-related questions in detail in the last two years of his life. Modern professions shift emphasis from the body; so also too much of intellectual pursuit. But The Mother, too, was emphatic upon work and physical exercise
The Mother had come from France to meet Sri Aurobindo in Puducherry on March 29, 1914. A minor but momentous event. Some of their direct disciples were great scholars but very few people know about them. Their dedication in establishing Ashram on a firm foundation is commendable.
If one really revers Sri Aurobindo he can't accommodate anyone else within that sphere. Further he will address him as Sri Aurobindo only and not in any other manner. Since The Mother & Sri Aurobindo are the Supreme Divine, describing them as guru or avatar amounts to distortion.

TV sabotaged democracy. Being a powerful visual medium, theatrical element is part of its presentation but too much of importance to power and politics robbed people of their self-esteem and autonomy. The great-man syndrome of the epics replaced the egalitarian democratic spirit.
Having observed various contradictions and paradoxes during the last sixty years, I am not very hopeful about the future. But what strikes me most is the prevalence of too many dramatic motifs dotting the history. Time has a penchant for such surprises and absurdities, as it were.

It's interesting that when Western philosophy had thrown out ontological discussion, Ken Wilber made evolutionary philosophy popular outside the University curriculum. It was a huge revolution. Sri Aurobindo was mentioned as one of the many but the seed is sure to grow humongous.
Due to the spread of education, more and more people will come across some book or other of Sri Aurobindo and recognise his greatness on their own. That kind of encounter will have a lasting impact instead of just hype or propaganda. The books themselves will speak to the people.
Ken Wilber introduced Sri Aurobindo to a large number of educated people in the West but at the same time most of his readers became prejudiced against Sri Aurobindo due to his distorted representation. The West waits for another honest interlocutor for The Mother & Sri Aurobindo

Some armchair commentators (with no connection whatsoever with the Army) periodically recommend inducting something called Kshatriya spirit into the civil society. They seem to be Jallikattu lovers and want people to fight among themselves. Sadly, they drag Sri Aurobindo's name.

Sri Aurobindo started writing in 1893 which continued till 1950. He had no academic competence on the subjects he chose but his treatment of the topics was superior to the experts. As regards science, he had no complaints but hastened to add that the supraphysical reality exists.
Science acknowledges death as truth but Sri Aurobindo invokes the Veda in favour of the deathless amrita. We are willing to go with the science but when it comes to aspiring for overcoming death and disease, there is no reason why we shall not follow him or read his epic SAVITRI.
Works of The Mother & Sri Aurobindo are not part of general education system. So, one has to apply some personal effort for a sound orientation. Many videos are misleading and stress on some specific aspect. So, accessing diverse sources is essential for an integral perspective.

The Mother & Sri Aurobindo were eminently eligible to criticize social anomalies more or less magisterially but the same authority doesn’t pass on to their followers automatically. The state of society needs to be taken as a given and all effort for reform
