Following The Mother & Sri Aurobindo entails faith, devotion, and loyalty to them. Interaction with other religions or paths or trying to synthesise them is better avoided. The world is full of distractions; the task is to steer clear of them and collaborate with evolutionary forces.
People continue to be confused about Sri Aurobindo. It's wrong to associate him with Hindutva, Hinduism, or Sanatana Dharma. It's also erroneous to portray him as a votary of nationalism or as an advocate for India. Besides, he doesn't belong to the Perennial philosophy club too.
The Mother came from France to meet Sri Aurobindo in Puducherry on March 29, 1914. History books don't record this event but it resulted in publication of the Arya journal and Sri Aurobindo writing the Integral philosophy in it. They are the symbol of human unity and world peace.
After their first meeting in Puducherry on March 29, 1914 when The Mother & Sri Aurobindo decided to work together, they didn't intend for promotion of Hinduism or any other religion. They sought to establish a system of spirituality and philosophy that is applicable universally.
Sri Aurobindo's activities and writings before 1914 shouldn't be given much importance. His mature writings were published in the Arya magazine and his Letters on Yoga belong to a still later period. Savitri and most of his poems also represent his high spiritual realisations.
The Mother & Sri Aurobindo are the hope of humanity. Human Unity is basically suscitating psychological unity in a world torn by religious, cultural, and national differences. Now, it appears impossible but Savitri Era Religion has the potential of bringing all under one umbrella

Being from the RKM background, many Hindutva intellectuals hold high regard for Vivekananda. But over the last five years, the message has spread gradually that Sri Aurobindo is a far more original and authentic thinker. This will grow as more and more people will read his books.
The ARYA volumes are of historical value as many of his writings have been revised and expanded. Thus, it's better to read from The Complete Works of Sri Aurobindo (CWSA) volumes.
