Acquaintance with the philosophy of The Mother & Sri Aurobindo can easily wean away people from harmful ideologies like Hindutva. Sri Aurobindo reinterpreted the Veda, and restored its original significance and relevance for the modern generation. He wrote Savitri to retell them.
While constant war is going on between Left and Right, Savitri Era Party posits Sri Aurobindo as the right recipe. There can be many disagreements with his various historical roles or opinions but they were contextual. His evolutionary framework is what should be the focal point.
Nehru was responsible for not allowing the dominant religion dictating terms to the Govt but failed to fortify his policy with adequate armament and ammunitions. Savitri Era Party is confident that following The Mother & Sri Aurobindo is the only alternative to dethrone Hindutva.
Democracy means rule by the people or their representatives. Being conscious of the mode or nature of administration and act as a watchdog is also incumbent on the citizens. But social media has turned it into entertainment, and a career for many. Watchdogs have vested interests!
When people talk about Market, most of the time they think of success. Those case studies are sold as dreams; hymns to Chadhta Suraj are sung. But Market also involves failure, loss, or defeat. Thus blaming this or that is just superficial; deeper reasons are purely evolutionary.
Worshipping The Mother & Sri Aurobindo as the one Supreme Divine, who are always present in their three poises: individual, universal, and transcendent, is the fundamental principle of Savitri Era Religion founded by Tusar Nath Mohapatra (b. 1956) in 2006. It's free from rituals.
Many institutions adorning Sri Aurobindo's name depend upon public donations or Govt funding. Some run social services on commercial basis. All these can be factors for compromise or misrepresentation which is unavoidable. Savitri Era Religion, therefore, is focused on surrender.
Many devotees of The Mother & Sri Aurobindo came out to express their opinion during the Book controversy in 2008. The conflict subsided with time but exposed fault lines of Integral yoga. The Auroville goings on reflect many misgivings too. Peacetime open discourse is essential.
Academic narratives get influenced by politics instead of philosophy. Even philosophy is prone to racial or geographical bias. In such a circumstance holding on to The Mother & Sri Aurobindo's teachings is a safe recourse. For Savitri Era Religion they are the one Supreme Divine.
Not being attached to any institution or group has allowed me to be independent in my thinking. The Mother & Sri Aurobindo have proved to be a strong anchor in my standing against Hindutva when so many others falter. Evolutionary worldview saves from narrow national perspectives.
Posts are normal on this platform against Congress, Communists, Socialists, Dalits, Muslims, Christians, and some Journalists. Savitri Era Party, however, aspires for harmony. This can be achieved by following The Mother & Sri Aurobindo who represent human unity and universality.
Since Savitri Era Religion worships The Mother & Sri Aurobindo as the one Supreme Divine it's not against people worshipping human beings as gods or goddesses. At least it's better and rational than worshipping imaginary characters of mythological fiction or abstract conceptions.
Granting Sovereignty to the States under a loose Federation can turn India the nucleus of future #WorldUnion that Sri Aurobindo foresaw in his #FiveDreams Manifesto. Otherwise, presently it lacks any moral stature for perorating on geopolitical matters since Delhi looks Colonial.
Instead of thinking about the poor in our country many are concerned about the wealthy Indians in America. Nationalism has many unseen dimensions including protecting gods in different countries and in the heaven. Boasting about new highways is common but the lanes are forgotten!
In 1906, Sri Aurobindo resigned from the Vadodara Royal service and moved to Kolkata as the Principal of the newly established Bengal National College, now Jadavpur University. Side by side, he was also acting as the editor of Bande Mataram newspaper founded by Bipin Chandra Pal.
There's no point in complaining about the British siphoning funds away from India during Colonialism since America is reimbursing continuously through subsidised tariffs. I didn't know about this phenomenon before the recent hike as we are pathetically supplicating to reduce them.
Someone has tried to link Sri Aurobindo with Ram Swarup, Sitaram Goel, Arun Shourie, and Rajiv Malhotra. This is pure misrepresentation and intellectual dishonesty. People should read his books independently without any preconceived impression or prejudice incarnateword.in/cwsa
It's heartening that Nigrahacharya is clarifying matters relating to different gurus and cults. His criticism of Sri Aurobindo representing a break from traditional Shastras is accurate which also forms the basis of Savitri Era Religion. Others too should speak with such clarity.
World has changed immensely since 1973, when The Mother passed away. Thus the life in Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Puducherry or Auroville shouldn't be construed as a model for the future. Anyone can follow them anywhere in the world without the misconception of sustainable development.
My search for meaning of life through literature, philosophy, and politics acquired a strong underpinning via The Mother & Sri Aurobindo's teachings. Then it occurred to me that mere intellectuality is not enough and I started Savitri Era Religion in 2006. That was 20 years back.
Under the banner of Savitri Era Party (2007), I have been providing an alternative narrative and ideology that is different from what is ordinarily followed by most devotees of The Mother & Sri Aurobindo. It is also different from Hindutva, Congress, and Leftist line of thinking.
Many learned persons equate Sri Aurobindo to Gandhi, Tagore, Vivekananda, Savarkar, et al. This is absolutely unfair. Sri Aurobindo's principal contribution is in the field of philosophy, mystic poetry, yoga, and spirituality which is something unique in the entire world history.
Since I am not in contact with other devotees and followers of The Mother & Sri Aurobindo for many years, my own situation is the reflection of their action and grace. Group activities provide a sense of belongingness that may be necessary at a time but ultimately it is solitary.
Madhu Dandavate as Railway Minister had introduced cushion in Sleeper coaches and development continues. The Mother too was concerned for development of Sri Aurobindo Ashram and Auroville. But evolution shouldn't be confused with this line of progress. Shedding dross is the task.
Having seen ideological swings at different periods in the past it's my firm belief that hold of Hindutva will decline. Because people seek self-interest and no religion by itself can provide this in full. Power and wealth are essential and Sri Aurobindo stands as an alternative.
The philosophy of The Mother & Sri Aurobindo is the best among available variants even if one doesn't agree with their system of yoga. Savitri and other poetic output are surely superlative. Reading them can convince one that they are the one Supreme Divine who deserve surrender.
Thanks to @Sanjay_Dixit for highlighting Uttarpara speech of Sri Aurobindo in a video chat at DEF talks. However, there was a factual error that the speech was, originally, delivered in Bengali. But it was actually delivered in English since Sri Aurobindo was educated in England.
India at present is in a precarious state. Its politics is centred round religion. It's internal security is focused on religion. Its defense is religion-based too. Its foreign policy also hovers around religion. External trade and commerce largely are also sensitive to religion.
