A minor ceremony took place on November 24, 1926

Why Sri Aurobindo is still in demand?

Tusar Nath Mohapatra
A minor ceremony involving 26 people took place in Puducherry (then, Pondicherry) on November 24, 1926 which marked the birth of Sri Aurobindo Ashram. Apart from his Sadhana, thereafter, Sri Aurobindo produced a lot of writings before he breathed his last on December 5, 1950. He is an authority on Indian wisdom who is credited to have effected a synthesis with Western thought in alignment with findings of Science. He is also acknowledged as a pioneer in Consciousness-studies and Self-perfection pursuits. It is hoped that the young generation takes adequate advantage of his vast erudition and prophetic contribution. His works can be accessed online at [TNM55]
