Philosophy has never been free; always with strings attached

Tweets by Savitri Era @SavitriEra

People talk about reforming the religions but no religion exists by itself. It's people who carry the religions upon their shoulders. If the person becomes aware of adventure of consciousness as heralded by Sri Aurobindo, then all external paraphernalia of religion loses value.

Philosophy developed as an alternative worldview to religion taking care not to hurt the latter too much. Many eminent philosophers harnessed opposite strategy of justifying religion without overtly displaying it. Thus, philosophy has never been free; always with strings attached.

Tracing the intellectual genealogy of Sri Aurobindo may not be a very credible exercise given his yogic expertise but a host of thinkers in the West were around at the same time theorising almost on the same lines, when he was publishing the successive chapters of The Life Divine

Following the tribe is fine but why mortgage your individuality and uniqueness? There's no other teacher in the modern world than Sri Aurobindo who can show the right path and authentic ontological orientation. Ignore him at your own risk. Opting for safety is your responsibility

Music to my ears but just think of yourself wasting precious years on Gandhi because of your father's influence. It's great that you find virtue in Sri Aurobindo now, but you have published precious little on him. The whole environment was like that. It will take some years now.

@davidfrawleyved is well acquainted with Sri Aurobindo's oeuvre for four decades now. So, you are carrying coals to Newcastle. That's fine, but many a time such quote retweets seem irreverent and lecturing the handle concerned. Thanks

A fine survey within the manageable limits of a reader's attention. My complain is that Odia has been left out, but then no one is expected to be acquainted with all the languages. Secondly, the prose is slippery; some proper nouns and deliberate critical remarks halt the reader.

Hope you remember me. No need to lay down fresh principles as Sri Aurobindo has already formulated them a century back. Following him is the best strategy. He alone is sufficient. Savarkar or Ambedkar are superfluous; may misguide. @NathTusar

Today you find any number of intellectuals defending Indian tradition but don't forget about the pioneers like @swapan55 and @KanchanGupta who wrote culumns in @TheDailyPioneer when it was relaunched edited by Vinod Mehta. My daughters published their poems in its Satchel section

The influence of Mazzini, I think, needs to be acknowledged.
Not sure but many books refer to him.
