Savitri Era of those who adore,
Om Sri Aurobindo & The Mother.
There can't be any bar on academic or journalistic interrogation of Sri Aurobindo but clarifying to what extent one is devoted to him is necessary for dispelling any possible misunderstanding. Those extolling different personalities on different days of the week should stay away.
One thing has surely changed between 2006, when I launched the Savitri Era Religion and now. Then people used to be aghast at hearing of a religion on Sri Aurobindo. They would fight with me: unfollow, block, or curse me. Now most have got used to. That's the power of propaganda.
Those safely ensconced felt threatened. How come this novice without degree or pedigree can talk so big, was the murmur. Motives were imputed but I persisted. Today, I expose their motives and hidden agenda. Secret links are coming out in the open. Imposters are being identified.
The story of The Mother & Sri Aurobindo has to be told with the same confidence as with which they wrote or responded to questions. Those thoroughly conversant or possessing conviction have this responsibility toward the public. Weaning away people from puerile stuff is necessary
Sri Aurobindo's 150th birth anniversary is a fit occasion for evaluating his influence in philosophy and religion. But difficult to find even a single public intellectual with competence and independence. None in the devotee circle unfortunately has any recognition in the public.
Eighty years back, Prof. Sisir Kumar Maitra (BHU) wrote a pioneering essay titled, Sri Aurobindo and Bergson that appeared in Sri Aurobindo Mandir Annual of 1942. A series of his illuminating comparative studies showed how Sri Aurobindo is way ahead of his Western contemporaries.
If most people are busy with other subjects, we must write about The Mother. By focusing on Sri Aurobindo, she has given India and the world a new direction. In 1956, she announced the descent of the Supramental force in a subtle form. Her experiments on body cells was pioneering
Scientifically speaking, we are one species but only Savitri Era Religion has the philosophical apparatus for the whole humanity. Anyone anywhere on the planet can be aware of the evolutionary necessity of taking a leap to the next level of consciousness if he knows Sri Aurobindo
Conflating political empowerment with religious empowerment is a big blunder of Hindutva. Defending compulsively obscurity and superstition which have been shown as hollow a century back by Sri Aurobindo is retrograde. Savitri Era Religion is the best option in the circumstances.
Many in India believe that polytheism is superior than monotheism. No one is bothered about the reality that these are mere philosophical speculations without any valid basis of truth. Sri Aurobindo solves hundreds of such puzzles in The Life Divine, the ultimate book of wisdom.
Someone told me once that he is avoiding a blood test for the fear of a symptom of some disease coming out. A similar fear grips people when asked to read Sri Aurobindo's books. Many now know how subversive Sri Aurobindo's thought is and they love and protect their own ignorance.
Die-hard supporters of BJP have discovered to their dismay that the party is backing out of Hindutva. This is exactly in consonance with Sri Aurobindo's prediction as the evolutionary intention. Nehruvian juvenility is over and a more muscular ambition was to succeed temporarily.
Many intellectuals have resigned themselves to the fact that they will not be able to read Sri Aurobindo so late in life and hence be content to bluff from time to time by invoking Uttarpara speech. Having invested my life in reading SA, I expect the young generation to emulate.
When a priest chants, it doesn't make sense to anyone. That is exclusion, plain and simple.
[Here is a challenge for you. If you are intellectually honest you will take it up...Prove that these chants promote exclusion of ANYONE.]
From CJI to President, they all reiterate lofty ideals but where it is to be found? From West Bengal to Goa, recent events don't inspire confidence. Sri Aurobindo has examined this paradox, extensively. Morality can't be sustained for long without the scaffolding of spirituality.
A string of Hindu festivals is about to commence. A thing to observe is how the Hindu section of the devotees of The Mother & Sri Aurobindo will go overboard in quoting from their writings on the Hindu theme. A competitive spirit also grips to prove who is more Hindu than others.
Content and technology are at an all time high in India but what's the overall output? All we get is self-congratulatory stuff devoid of any originality or prophecy. Overlooking Sri Aurobindo has become the norm as a result of which pedestrian level reigns supreme. #SA150
Sri Aurobindo's speech broadcast over AIR Tiruchirapalli on the eve of Independence Day in 1947 is a milestone in India's history. In his third dream he predicts a World Union as a step towards a new race inhabiting the planet. Following him is the key to perfection and harmony.
The Mother has repeatedly spoken about the need for loyalty, sincerity, and surrender. Collaboration with evolution is effective only when our devotion towards The Mother & Sri Aurobindo is unadulterated or unalloyed. Fighting against the past is a challenge which must be pursued
Those who value culture, tradition, and religion are free to do so. Being true to one's own religion is a good thing. But polluting the atmosphere of The Mother & Sri Aurobindo's devotees is unethical. Keeping Hindu symbols and icons out is the responsibility of all followers.
The Mother & Sri Aurobindo have written many great things but they can't happen automatically. Thus reading is fruitless unless backed by devotion. Simple scholarly engagement is lame to that extent. Relying upon their Grace is an essential factor. The Mother book is clear on it.
Issued during Sri Aurobindo's birth centnary celebration in 1972 by Nehru Memorial Museum and Library. #SA150

People are now used to State-level self-respect. They are reluctant to be under the domination of any national party.
Political ideals remain a distant dream despite elaborate infrastructure for ensuring it. This is not a human failure or system failure but a clear ontological character. The remedy, according to Sri Aurobindo, is evolutionary in nature. Following him and The Mother is the answer

There are much more significant contributions by Sri Aurobindo like The Secret of the Veda and a sustained endeavour is necessary to imbibe them. Link to his Complete Works is here. incarnateword.in/cwsa
The future society can't be seen in terms of present religions. That's the assurance of The Mother & Sri Aurobindo. Even nationalities will prove to be porus. The past is not a guide for evolutionary changes. Pockets of aspiring people can help precipitate higher consciousness.
Savitri Era Religion promotes modern environment without mythology or ritual. No reliance on Sanskrit as most original books are in English or French. No system of any guru or big brother. Each person learns according to his own swabhav. No system of evaluation of progress either
Savitri Era Religion envisages a direct relationship with the Divine without any intermediaries. Each person is unique in terms of difficulties as well as possibilities. Physical circumstances and cultural backgrounds too are different. Similarity needed in nature of aspirations.
Modalities of old religions refuse to loosen their hold and many are willing instruments. Right orientation, therefore, is a sine qua non. What The Mother & Sri Aurobindo teach is absolutely new and unprecedented. Resorting to old methods won't produce the desired results. #SA150
Sri Aurobindo and Karl Marx by D. P. Chattopadhyaya is an outstanding book for understanding the social and political philosophy of Sri Aurobindo from a critical perspective. The spiritual nature of Sri Aurobindo's prescriptions are nothing but his prophecy on evolutionary course
I have tweeted on #FiveDreams of Sri Aurobindo on many occasions in the past. Time now for creating some concrete institutional framework for realisation of his #ThirdDream of #WorldUnion instead of symbolic celebration at Auroville or some rhetoric. Needed courage and conviction
Those who are in power today were nonentities during 1947-50. They need to understand and analyse how they captured power and whether they pursue the right path. Else they will meet the fate of their predecessors. The Mother & Sri Aurobindo hold the rudder well. They don't sleep.
Arithmetic catapulted the new President to her eminence signifying victory of the marginalised on many counts and virtue of democracy. She being steeped in Sri Aurobindo's philosophy of education is something first in Independent India. She has no powers but is a powerful symbol.
The Integral Philosophy of Sri Aurobindo (1958) #SA150
In the year of his 150th birth anniversary, acceptance of his intellectual eminence has grown exponentially. But actual plunging into his voluminous and luminous works requires adequate appreciation and avoiding comparison with his contemporaries. Sri Aurobindo stands at the top.
To say the truth, there's no satisfactory philosophy but Sri Aurobindo offers the best fairytale one. Through his elaborate prose and poetry, he takes his reader around unimaginable scenarios and concepts. Furthermore, this is not merely elucidatory but performative for evolution
None can claim that India went through periods of extraordinary mass spiritual awareness on the basis of religious ethics prescribed by ancient texts. The Mother and Sri Aurobindo attempted such a possibility with evolution as spur. This might seem as spurious but result is sure.
The life and work of The Mother & Sri Aurobindo are well documented. Their writings have been duly published and freely available. They are to be accepted as it is without preconceived notions or narratives. The evolutionary dimension needs to be highlighted instead of past love.
It's normal to think of the future in terms of the enormous changes during the last two hundred years. The Mother & Sri Aurobindo however foresee a different scenario the concrete shape of which are scattered in their writings in an embryonic form. The task is to believe in them.
The Mother & Sri Aurobindo are not only the one Supreme Divine but also the leaders of evolution. Our idea of progress and development may or may not match with the evolutionary intention. Tons of goodwill and sincerity are needed for discerning the right future direction. #SA150
The Mother & Sri Aurobindo first met on March 29, 1914 and fruition of their work was accomplished on February 29, 1956. Aspiration for Supramental consciousness forms collaboration with their evolutionary aim. Simplicity, humility, and loyalty are also needed in abundance #SA150
Radical transformation of human nature as well as the present circumstances are the priority for The Mother & Sri Aurobindo. Not by reforms but through descent of Supramental consciousness which is an evolutionary inevitability. Faith and devotion on our part is essential. #SA150
Belief in The Mother & Sri Aurobindo is pivotal for the evolutionary imperative of Supramental manifestation. Conscious collaboration with the earth nature, in this respect, will hasten the speed. What is being attempted is absolutely unprecedented for the whole mankind. #SA150
Reign of the Supramental is our future and our role is to aspire without wasting time on culture. Supramental is universal but not without the element of the local. But, it's fundamentally different and is likely to give rise to a new species. Thus, speculation over it is futile.
The Mother & Sri Aurobindo came to work meticulously for the descent of the Supramental. As Supreme Divine, they continue to supervise the world action vis-à-vis the trajectory of evolution. They are equally alert to our longings and sufferings. Love and devotion is our offering.
Evolution brought plants and animals upon this planet and in the same way Supramental will arrive to succeed man. The Mother & Sri Aurobindo are sure about this. They simply ask us to aspire and collaborate so that the action is speeded up. A childlike faith and reliance required
The Mother & Sri Aurobindo are the one Supreme Divine
Supramental manifestation on earth is their work sublime
Our aspiration and collaboration are essential
For the evolution to complete its task celestial
And to end the ignorance and suffering reigning at present
A clean break.
Next step in the path of evolution is Supramental manifestation and The Mother & Sri Aurobindo as the one Supreme Divine are busy navigating the transition. They are active in three poises: individual, universal, and transcendent. Thus, our reliance on The Mother is most crucial.
Manifestation of Supramental consciousness upon earth is an evolutionary inevitability. Our aspiration is necessary for expediting it. But The Mother's grace is the final arbiter. Sri Aurobindo clarifies that it is negotiating ignorance and resistance and hence the slow progress.
Academic discourse is basically Marxist discourse. It's a legacy of the Congress regime which refuses to fade. But it has not been able to delegitimise the dominant political environment in India. The Congress and the Leftists themselves have done immense harm to democracy.
Most handles sing party tunes. Many masquerading as intellectuals sell their favorite politicians. Independent views are a scarce commodity in such an event. Without the right lens, young Indians get confused and follow the herd. But, what's good should be evident and attractive.
Nehru struck a body blow to the Indian Constitution by clinging to power till his last breath and encouraging dynasty. Creating another Nehru is not going to strengthen Indian democracy. Ideology, therefore, is important and not personality cult. Two terms are enough for any PM.
Human nature and self interest being at the core of social dealings, what prompts pursuing higher goals is also ingrained. Thus it's a question of replacing lower motives with the higher. In this sense, democracy has almost the same demands like personal morality or spirituality.
Opposition parties painting the ruling dispensation as aberration is understandable but the evolutionary undercurrent needs to be deciphered. 150th birth anniversary of Sri Aurobindo generated wide ranging interest and the intellectual scene therefore is fecund with possibilities
