Babaji Maharaj used to root for Nama Japa

Yesterday was the anniversary of an inconsequential incident that took place way back in 1945 which obviously passed unnoticed. But the immense awakening that has ensued contributing to remarkable socio-cultural advancement is something that should compel our scholars to take notice. Ramakrishna Das (Babaji Maharaj) joined Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Puducherry on February 2, 1945 and worked unceasingly for popularizing the teachings of The Mother & Sri Aurobindo in Orissa till he passed away in 1998.

Today, thousands of institutions in ten different fields are working with the involvement of more than a million people. Leaving aside the spiritual aspect which is difficult to gauge, the educational and cultural empowerment the Pathachakra movement has endowed informally in remote corners of this backward state is something that needs to be reckoned along with the sophisticated discourse of the elite “IY Community.” [TNM]
