In India we have a problem of plenty. Too many Sanskrit texts, philosophies, and mythological fiction. Sources of knowledge and discrimination, no doubt, but collectively are a burden on the mind. #SriAurobindo fortunately does a fascinating selection. Grasping that much is enough.
They will make proper sense if The Secret of the Veda by #SriAurobindo is consulted where he unpacks the psychological interpretation. Thanks.
Debt of #SriAurobindo to Theosophy is a field of research. But Sri Aurobindo drew his clues from the Veda. One might read all the books by Sri Aurobindo but if he misses The Secret of the Veda, then understanding his philosophy and commentaries will remain at a superficial level.
Individualism is the bane of Western thinking although no man is an island. Rationalism and scientific approach has been a major factor for modern civilisation. Yet the Vedic Evolutionary schema of #SriAurobindo offers a befitting response to Darwin, Nietzsche Bergson, and Freud
TV and Internet have altered the face of Democracy and public sphere drastically. Reimagining the community and collective living must receive urgent attention. #SriAurobindo Ashram & Auroville have a lot of experience on this score. Right mix of family and a common kitchen good.
Reading #SriAurobindo's books means entering into the causal aspects of current affairs and media offerings. Such an intellectually coherent framework of world functioning gives a tremendous support for further imagination and innovation. Otherwise, superficial notions take root.

That's the normal view but it's profitable to be optimistic at the moment so that the hawks are kept at bay.
It's easy to blame nations or religions but the fact remains that man kills man. Capturing power is the prime motive. Hidden trait for violence is another. Hitler represented such a propensity. Eradicating this is impossible but #TheMother & #SriAurobindo promise a better future.
It's not necessary that you will read all the books of #SriAurobindo and then decide whether to follow him. That can be one way but the shorter course is to admire him intuitively and then find or discover fodder to follow him. So just follow Sri Aurobindo and tell others to do.
