Sri Aurobindo emphasises upon Samata or equality

August 15 is #SriAurobindo's birth anniversary. History has to be looked at afresh through this lens. Scanning the past with this new touchstone can bust many myths and demolish many false narratives. Both Left and Right shudder at this prospect. It's a turf war but truth crucial.

Either you have India or Democracy. Both can't stay together unless a caricature. Constitution of India is not geared towards power to the people. It demands too much superior virtues from the Prime Minister but such a human being is hardly to be found. Sovereignty to States must.

Agree with you but the way technology has transformed discourse and democracy, a more sound and secure model should evolve. This involves honesty of purpose and determination. Sadly, such signs are missing. @NathTusar

That's the present state of affairs which says #SriAurobindo can be transformed through change of consciousness. That's what we are exploring and how a higher light and force can bring change in men and motivations. A hypothesis but perhaps profitable to believe in it at present.

I was born in a free country but have been a victim of distorted history and motivated narratives. No effort today to mend the rot. No one is bothered why #SriAurobindo has been kept out of college syllabus. A book like The Life Divine should have been the pride of any nation.

Despite technology, most individuals perpetually suffer from fear and anxiety. Multiple concerns torment a person. The future is uncertain and therefore the personal insecurity. Religion has a big role here but what #SriAurobindo emphasises is the Samata or equality aspect.

While everyone here talks about Dharma, #SriAurobindo brings Sadhana or Yoga to the table: Your own godward adventure. This, in fact, is an ongoing endeavour to be in alignment with hidden Evolutionary intention. Aspiration, Rejection, and Surrender are the triple royal formula.

#SriAurobindo also has his share of historical distortion when his rhetorical flourishes are devoid of ground level testimony. In many of his poems and plays he deviates and creates new themes and thrusts. So literalism is a problem in Sri Aurobindo. Key is to assimilate essence.

If one is not able to tweet from an integral perspective, then his attitude is bound to be defective even if he writes a book. Further, many rely upon borrowed citations without going through the primary sources. There's no other way than to read #SriAurobindo's original works.

Debt of #SriAurobindo to Theosophy is a field of research. But Sri Aurobindo drew his clues from the Veda. One might read all the books by Sri Aurobindo but if he misses The Secret of the Veda, then understanding his philosophy and commentaries will remain at a superficial level.

#SriAurobindo was born in Kolkata on August 15, 1872 and was educated in England. Was an official in Vadodara and later became a college teacher there. Wrote poems and read a lot to be acquainted with the Indian tradition. Took interest in fighting the British and went to Kolkata https://t.co/MtOdZwtUgr
