Spirituality is intangible but Democracy is tangible. Many of the aims of Democracy can be helpful for spirituality. Fight among parties should be on a brotherly basis. Presenting own case without exaggeration and allowing citizens to choose on their own free will should be norm.

The whole project of The Mother & Sri Aurobindo is transformation of human nature through Integral Yoga. Scepticism is fine, but nothing wrong in knowing what the greatest thinker of India is saying.
You are talking about past examples but I'm juggling with future models under the influence of a higher consciousness that Sri Aurobindo has promised. It may not be Democracy by name but a better world certainly awaits for us. Pascal's wager is to believe.
The Evolutionary philosophy of Sri Aurobindo hates all past patterns and aphoristic pronouncements. The past was just an act of a play; the future will be different. We must believe in his optimism.

Philosophy changed to a great extent after Freud who is also accused of speculation. The Individual came under spotlight and often as a unique being with own peculiarities. Difference and diversity ruled the roost and the basic aim of philosophy ie common patterns was torpedoed.
History of philosophy is a hurdle for philosophy. An individual's attempt to understand himself and the world should be so normal. Discovering interconnectedness is the first step of philosophy. Then rises the question of the source of this interconnection and why it's invisible.
Giving voice to the voiceless is a noble feature of Democracy. But many a time, it becomes too shrill and strident. Restraint therefore is the watchword. There's no better way of resolving conflicts than civil discourse. But media is encouraging loudness and aggressive posturing.
Ethics is the backbone of society but its source is multifarious. Own conscience, social conventions, or even the deterrent of law. Still, crime, vice, and evil are constant companions. The Mother & Sri Aurobindo, therefore, insist on conscious change and transformation of nature
Modern Democracy evolved during the last 500 years and numerous socioeconomic formulations have been applied for its success. Thereś no denying that there has been immense progress but mere development is not an accurate indicator of the health of Democracy. Sri Aurobindo is key.
The Life Divine is not merely a book; it's a manifesto for the whole humanity for manifestation of the Divine consciousness upon earth. This is Vedic in origin and universal in scope. So, no sectarian sentiments or narrow parochialism. Sri Aurobindo leads this Evolutionary march.
Leftists are doing their job quite diligently and never shirk from airing their opinion, even on inconvenient issues. RSS and Congress otoh are reticent and look Kafkaesque. Media too avoids to interrogate and public remains confused with very superficial views. This must change.
