It's a fact that Sri Aurobindo as a political worker and writer found himself in affinity with Lal-Bal-Pal between 1906 and 1910. But his stature as a Philosopher and Seer-Poet far exceeds all his eminent contemporaries. Most educated people in India are either not equipped or too prejudiced to hold a just evaluation of Sri Aurobindo's place in history but that doesn't diminish his genius and greatness. Savitri and The Life Divine alone put him at the top of the world. The Mother was one person who could recognize him in advance in her very first meeting on March 29, 1914. Although outside politics, he had offered advice on several occasions which proves his foresight.
India today stands at crossroads unable to decide which way to go. RSS has discovered that a rigid Hindu-centric agenda is bound to face stiff resistance. The Congress decline has put Secularism under much suspicion. So the middle path, which Sri Aurobindo hewed a Century back, assumes immense significance. By cementing it with Judeo-Vedic Ontology, he makes it relevant, not only for modern India, but also for the whole world including Gaza. Thus, the task is how to understand it correctly and set our policies accordingly. There is no dearth of brain-power in our country now but escaping from the yoke of the past is proving arduous.
