Peter Heehs' Sri Aurobindo and Hinduism (a speech: Hyderabad 2006) is a precursor to his post of August 4th, 2008 at Columbia University Press Blog (Postings by Authors) where his bravado becomes evident. The well chiseled sentences and the shrewd selection and clinical grafting of citations in The Lives of Sri Aurobindo are all links in a larger design the full picture of which is yet to unfold. East-West, Hindu-Christian, Left-Right, Black-White: several binaries are part of the tussle here. It is not unlikely that a synthesis emerges out of this slugfest. [TNM]
